If an ICE agent is violating local law he absolutely is subject to arrest by local authorities…

A disingenuous statement within the context of this conversation.

If an ICE agent is domestically abusing his wife, absolutely he can be arrested. Now do when a locality passes a law, or makes a proclamation that contradicts federal law. Jacob Frey can't unilaterally say "No persons can be arrested in MN for laws we don't like." Try to arrest an ICE agent performing legally outlined duties there...it ain't gonna happen, Champ.

While I get the example, he was a local cop charged under local laws nothing fed.

If an ICE agent does something similar, argued to be illegal and therefore outside of his actual duties/authority, the state can prosecute him.

The avenue for immunity via a Supremacy Clause argument requires the behavior to be lawful and within the scope of the federal authority. Go back to my initial post (I'll bold the important parts)

If they're enforcing immigration law properly within the legal limits of that enforcement authorization, they're likely immune.

For everyone sayjng no, if a Fedaeral agent is driving drunk can local police arrest them? I feel like the obvious answer is yes. Are you asking a more direct question, like can they arrest a federal agent for federally lawful actions? Obviously, the charges would get tossed in that scenario.

Exactly. The simple is yes they can arrest them if they are breaking the law. Being a federal agent isn’t doesn’t give them immunity.

The crux of it is if they are actually breaking the law or not.

Yes they can be arrested for offenses like DUI or PI DV etc. However they cannot be arrested for acting in an official capacity and thats what is being proposed by the far left lunatics

To arrest federal agents?

I guess they can arrest whoever they want but the legality is certainly in question, and they're absolutely not immune from the consequences of their actions. With the way the local courts and circuit courts are stacked, it would likely go all the way to the SCOTUS before being ruled illegal.

But it still won't stop them from trying. I just want to see what happens when a local five-oh that's been shite on, robbed and defunded by his local government, is ordered to arrest a federal agent that the cop knows damn good and well is operating well within the agent's legal and constitutional authority.

I'm pretty sure one of the intended effects to all of this is to get the honest cops to quit so that leadership can replace them with yes-men that will do only the bidding of the local regimes.

You laugh but that's what Mamdani is threatening to do in NYC to Netanyahu.
