LINK

i've read a few articles about this today, and they all mention that the company is only producing a small fraction of what their capacity allows, which is the reason for bringing other brewers in.

hopefully this is the beginning of the end for them.

Dixie Beer was shite a long time ago and is still shite. Just because you change your name does not mean the product will improve. How about making better tasting beer?

I'm no fan of the name change, but this lets them leverage the excess capacity they've had from the start. The facility the Bensons built is huge and state of the art. Aligning with other brewers that are short on capacity makes sense, plus they gain footprint for distribution.

Biznola Article notes that the goal is 100,000bbl/year. By comparison, Abita puts out about 170k barrels and distributes almost nationwide. They've been available for contract brewing for some time. Contract brewing @ the brewery formerly known as Dixie

Sorry to dash hopes for their demise, but it may well turn out to be a success and a job generator for New Orleans, in an industry that is a natural for NO.

It was shite beer with history, a cool name and cool logo. All that's left now is the shite part (but at least its not racist)

Hopefully they fail. The only thing they had going for them was the name Dixie.

100%. Occasionally, I would buy a pack of Dixie. Not because it was good (it wasn't) but just because of the name. Now, I'll never buy cucked "Faubourg".

Yeah they way way overbuilt that facility.

My guess a merger / contract brewing was always part of the plan.

Dixie Beer was better than people say it was. It is just popular to shite on it. Blackened Voo Doo was pretty damn good.

I’m not going to lie. I used to pick up a 6 pack here and there. Once they changed the name I said frick it. I’d rather Abita or Parrish beers anyway
