It’s not quite as bad as Washington and Oregon, but yeah. The ports are a fricking nightmare right now.

Indeed. We’re months away, at best, before this could get cleaned up. But here’s something I hadn’t thought about until just now. The South American ag season is right around the corner and they use the SoCal ports to bring in their crops. With the backlog out here they’ll either air freight product which will seriously jack up the prices or use vessels that are bound for Galveston or the East Coast and then have to ship it across the US and freight rates are obscenely high too. Just one more challenge to the supply chain and our pocket books. Meh. Thread hijack over.

I was shocked when I went for the UCLA game. Really thought the issue was being overblown. It was my first trip to CALI in about 7 years and it has deteriorated unbelievably.

We were recently in So Cal visiting the Grandkids.
The only bad thing we experienced was the traffic which was constantly horrendous.

The claim is a ships anchor pierced a pipeline and dragged it along the ocean floor or tore it up for like 7miles
So if the California government would let more ships into port to unload their cargo this wouldnt have happened? There are supposedly hundreds offshore waiting to come into port.
But instead of putting blame on the politicians they put it on the evil fossil fuels. I wish every company that sells fuel in California would just pull up stakes and move. Let everything grind to a halt, them maybe the liberals would realize that fuel is what make everything work and a train or 18 wheeler cant run on electricity or unicorn farts.

As you would expect the people in the cities are generally a-holes and the people in the agriculture areas are nice and down to earth.
The valley is full of farmers and ordinary people. Fresno is all right. Sacramento reminded me of Ashville. A nice town with a bunch of dumb frick hipsters. Spending a week in LA was miserable. The closer we got to the coast, the worse it got. I didn't feel safe anywhere I went. Constantly getting stared down by minorities.
Stick to the middle and northern parts of the state if you want to go there. Also, they don't have guard rails on the roads so be careful riding through the mountains.

I hear you buddy. My customers are on back order through next July. It’s getting bad and it’s none of our faults. It’s the idiots in California that refused to recall Newsom.

I know this is nearly impossible to believe, but Portland is even worse. I’ve been back to the West Coast in the past two months, and honestly save for people wearing masks, San Francisco and LA haven’t changed all that much since the pandemic looks wise. Portland and Seattle though look like something straight out of “Dawn of the Dead” at this point. A 20 foot tarp blew into the interstate in Portland and it’s a miracle there wasn’t a major car accident and get several people killed. I know this is hard to believe, but Portland and Seattle are much, much worse than anywhere in California right now.

Yes! I moved away last year after living in San Jose (Silicon Valley) 30 years.
The last time I went to San Francisco because we got $10 tickets to see Hamilton, the streets were lined with tents full of homeless people and I literally saw people shotying up.
San Jose used to be nice and the crazy stayed in SF. The last 5 years I was there, the homeless situation exploded! All along Monterrey highway and 85, there were hundreds of tents with people living there. There was trash and graffiti all over town. Fires were breaking out constantly due to the homeless causing them. I saw people dedicating in the street.
A homeless encampments started right by Almaden Lake in Almaden which the southern tip of the Bay Area in a neighborhood filled with multimillion dollar homes.
A neighbor across the street woke up to a homeless person in her backyard.
The crime exploded over the past few years. Nextdoor is full of crime reports.
The week before we moved a group of at least 4 people started a fire by my houses, and we were getting ready to evacuate but the firefighters got it under control.
I haven't been back since we moved. I think everything has gotten worse since last summer.
It was beautiful when I moved there 30 years ago. I loved it. I hate it now!

I went to UCLA game and rented a car. Drove around a bunch. Lot of homeless for sure. People were much friendlier than I expected.

New Yorkers come down here to Florida every year and do the same thing. They even admit it.
I know you know that they know it… Cali and New York doesn’t need their votes so move to a state that does like Georgia and well…

We'd fit in pretty well down in SEC Country. This is Huntington Lake and is one of my favorite places to go. It's a little over 7,000 ft elevation and during the winter is gets lots of snow and there is a ski resort less than a mile from it. It's just beautiful and lightly visited as there is another large lake most people stop at before you get here.
