Is AM Conservative Talk Radio a trap?

I grew up with WBAP, considered to be the largest conservative AM talk radio station in the country, since my dad worked there for many years, and still am a heavy listener today.
With that being said, you listen to stations like WBAP to hear conservative talk radio. But every 30 minutes you have to deal with news updates from some national bureau like ABC, CBS or FOX News that push the democrat agenda narratives, and then local news updates from a local radio anchor who also pushes the democrat narratives. I mute my radio every 30 minutes when listening to WBAP because all they are trying to do is scare the shite out of people in terms of COVID and push democrat propaganda.
Cumulus, who owns WBAP, is NOT a conservative company.
So is the idea to rope in conservative minds to listen to folks like Dan Bongino, Mark Levin, and others; and herd them like lambs to the slaughter to listen to the twice hourly national/local news updates that attempt to instill democrat propaganda into the minds of the listeners of the station?

Conservative pod casts?
Posted on 8/11/21 at 9:30 am to goldennugget
I've lost faith in conservative radio since Rush died. I only read my news now, no pundits, no opinion. The only thing I listen to now are educational podcasts and audiobooks.
To answer your question directly, it's all a scam to get you to buy something. That's the only reason a lot of it exists anymore. No one in media today is in it for any higher reason than money, and they will say and do what the money says to say and do.
My only disclaimer is that I believe we are becoming (have become?) a tech oligarchy and a lot of my opinions are rooted in that belief. Take it how you will.

This is why I stopped listening off the dial and went into the podcasts. You can listen to Bongino or previously Rush directly from their media.

Pretty much have given up on radio all together..
When XM/Sirius cancelled Mike Church years ago, I quit XM.
After Rush passed away that turned to crap pretty quickly so I pretty much quit WRNO, Hanity drives me batshit.
Even the C&W iHeart radio stations have gone all politically correct/COVID scare BS. so I've quit that.

Walton and Johnson look them up, I promise nothing fake. It's also funny. Look them up an give them a listen to. Trust me

By what metric? Almost every conservative talker has one local show with the rest syndicated.
WBAP is no different than KTRH in Houston or WOAI in San Antonio.

No offense, but this show is just shock jocks saying things for the sake of saying them. Their bits remind me of radio in the 90s.
They're way past their KLOL glory days. Especially since half of the duo passed away not long ago.

Everyone has an opinion

Yes
90% are just people going on script anyway. They're all actors. I believe progs use these as a means to split people on the right.
shite, the FBI is probably involved too.

I just do podcast exclusively for politics now. I rarely listen to talk radio. If I do it's mostly sports.

While I like Walton and Johnson and have even given Clay and Buck a listen, the commercials are insane. I feel for every 1 minute of talking they do, there are 5 minutes of commercials. Makes it unplayable to me.

It's not just radio. The podcast, the TV, the blogs from the left and the right say outlandish things to get readership. They know there is money in conspiracy talk and war talk and race talk and sex talk on and on.
Their goal is to target a particular group with the same mindset and stir them up. Traffic mean $$$ in ad clicks or merchandise sales or whatever is driving their business.

The man said Monday on the morning show that he "thought" Clay Jenkins was doing the right for the Comish courts in Dallas with his mask mandate. Clay Jenkins has the authority was his words "un". That whole crew, as soon as the "vaccine" was available, went and received the jab. Back to Hal, and maybe that's the design of the show, says some really stupid shite which brings us right back to your original issue with conservative talk radio.
It's a production.

WBAP, as best as I can tell, does not carry network news between 5am-7pm. The top and bottom of hour 2 minute newscasts seem to be produced in-house. That’s what you would expect in market #5. They may carry net news in non-peak times but not sure. Same in market #6 (Houston); KTRH does its own news.
ETA: I don’t live in the Dallas metro, but I like WBAP, especially the “liberty loving Latino”, Chris Salcedo from 9-11 am.

One of the beautiful things about being a conservative is that we know what the left/liberal talking points are and can respond to them with our own whereas the sheep just repeat everything they hear from the msm. That makes me proud. I can’t imagine being weak enough in my beliefs that I have to hide my ears from hearing the arguments of the other side. That sounds like some lefty college kid shite

iHeart is a streaming service and gives you access to most radio stations in the country. The problem is the ownership of the stations and networks. Try WMAL from DC. They have Chris Plante in the AM followed by Bongino in Rush's old time slot. Chris Plante is great - very conservative and has the delivery style of a stand-up comic, which is the correct way to cover the kleptocracy.
