Great point. But things are (D)ifferent now. I’m old enough to remember when we (R/D) used to just argue about welfare and the union. Starting with Obama, every administration has taken a sledgehammer to just about everything from the prior administration. I don’t think we’ve ever been this equally and extensively polarized.

I think Iran will play the long game. Even if they're broke, as long as the Govt and Govt supporters have the bullets and the antigovernment people don't, they can control the country. If they're smart they'll let Russia come in and hold their enriched uranium "until a time in the relatively near future where we can put it to peaceful purposes as we always intended without fear of an unprovoked attack from Zionist Imperialism."
