No way!
It was sunk Arizona style!
It's game on!
8 dollar gas!
LoL
That's why... no one was hurt and the vessel continued on it's way.
I'm certain the administration is getting feedback from Iranian leadership which sounds like "It was a rogue group, we didn't authorize the launch (hehe)".
And on a serious note, I would have left the blockade enforced; or at least inspected every cargo delivered to Iran, as they work to replenish armament.
I also would have enforced the following - Any attacks on commercial shipping - the U.S. will respond with force and/or a hefty fine of $1-2 billion dollars plus ensure Iran pays for the repair/ replacement.

With the way their levels of leadership have been collapsing stirring up some shite isn't a terrible idea if you're #3 or so in the chain of command. By Saturday you can find yourself as Ayatollah, or President, or whatever the frick they call their leader.

Even if this story turns out to be overblown it still serves as a perfect example of why a deal will never work. Trump can negotiate the greatest peace deal in the history of mankind and it will be totally irrelevant. These people are only going to follow a deal just as long as they feel like they need to and then not one second longer. So what’s the point in a deal? We have watched this movie to many times to expect any major behavioral changes out of this regime.

It was not blown up or sunk but the IRGC did attack a Singapore-Flagged vessel today near Oman. No fatalities or environmental pollution as a result of the attack. The ship was taking the route that Oman has established when the IRGC took exception to that and fired upon them. Ships are now transiting the strait via the Iranian Traffic route they have established.

The Singapore-flagged Ever Lovely was hit by Iran's IRGC while transiting the Strait of Hormuz in a group of three ships following the IMO-designated route along Oman's coast. Seafarers in the flotilla said no warning or radio contact from Iran's navy preceded the attack. No casualties reported, according to the WSJ.

POTUS Trump is giving them a false sense of security if they wish to challenge the US Navy and Air Force again. If Iran does make a move, the US response will be devastating.
Iran completely understands.

And then by the following Saturday a dead man, just like the others.

I've not heard anyone ask the question of why iran feels that the Strait is THEIRS to do with as they will.
Half of it falls in their territorial watters, I can see them wanting to control that. I disagree with it because it's a sea lane, but I can at least see their logic.
This took place against a ship passing through Oman's waters. That's a legitimate issue that should piss Oman off and further alienate Iran.

International maritime doctrine allows for free passage through the strait, even if within the 12 mile border.
Now firing on a vessel because it wont travel on your half is absolute bullshite.
They cant fire what missiles they have because as soon as they lift the lid and fire it up they will be vaporized.
Their PTBarnum bayliners are afriad to hit the open waters.
That leaves them launching these m-80 firecrackers and knocking out a couple of lightbulbs on a vessel.
But since we have a bunch of dancing bears on this site and the full cooperation of the MSM in the states its.......oh my lions tigers and bears.
Loosen up Sandra baby, we got this handled.
