We knew Saddam was a mostly secular leader even before the invasion. The big lie fueling the invastion was the whole WMD thing.
Look, Saddam had to go if for no other reason than the gassing if the Kurds and other shite he pulled. It wasn't his removal that caused issues, it was the US thinking what the ME needs is a democracy. They typically don't work when the day to day and especially education is controlled by despots.
Hell, look what is happening here slowly but surely.

Plus, the Iranian government openly funds and arms terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah. If Iran stop doing just this, there would be far less conflict in the Middle East. Israel has no conflict with many Muslim countries that border them. Egypt and Jordan come to mind. Every country that is in conflict with Isreal, has close ties to Iran.
Iran 100% founded Hezbollah. It more than likely still funds Hezbollah to millions. The Iranians would justifiably ask America why it bad that they fund these terrorist groups that promote their foreign policy...while America does the same exact thing

But at what point do you just ignore logic and reason because your mind is made up that regardless of the source, it's all lies?
Im being told that Iran's hates Israel because they have irrational hate for Jews and want to eradicate them...yet they literally have a small Jewish population living in Iran that they could snuff out easily.
Your "logic" is that I must accept that Iran is acting "illogically" as if they are a supervillain who has no goal other than to just be evil.
My mind isnt made up at all on anything. This is what is driving some on this board crazy. If one person just questions the prevailing narrative(which is wrong generally at a 100% rate), hes the crazy, illogical one. Do yall not realize this visceral reaction to questions is programming?
Again, never once have I suggested Iran has good people running it. It just seems silly to me that we have painted Iran as some cartoonish villain who has no self interests other than irrational desire to eradicate certain people.

Russians would argue yes, as would Iranians

Nope, the U.S. is vastly different and more grounded in rationality.

I do tend to believe that Iran has a strict Muslim government. Thats about all that I just straight up believe. Watching videos of people traveling through Iran really opened up my eyes though. These people are not savages. I want to at least hear their side of the story.
Then I take it you are not my age then. I went to college with many Iranians back in the 70's and 80's. In about 79 the muslim clerics overthrew the Shah who was very western friendly. In fact Iran at that time was probably the most western minded muslim society in the Middle East. When the clerics took over there was no law but what they said which was ultra conservative muslim beliefs. No room for toleration of the infidel. Also, women in Iran who were highly eductated lost all human rights as stated in Sharia Law.
The college students I went to school with were pro-Shah for the most part and were at that time exiled from Iran or it they returned home they would be killed. The pro Shah citizens were shoved down the citizen heirarchy and many were executed as a purge of western thought. In fact I was working with an Iranian engineer a few yrs ago who to this day says he is on a death list because of who his family is. He has not been home in 40+ yrs.
As for the current regime, yes, they are world sponsors of terror. The bankroll every problem in the Middle East. The Saudis dont like them, the Egptians, the Syrians, the Lebanese, the Turks, the Jordanians, and especially the Iraqis dont like them because of this.
You are right to question what you see and hear these days. That is what we do here on the Rant every day. It should not take you long to find out what the truth is on the Iranian leaders. I should preface this that there is still some pro-western Iranians in Iran but they have been completely shackled politically

The contrast in those practices have been seen in real time over the last couple of years and administrations. Using a blanket statement suggesting Democrat and Republican admins have treated Iran the same is either ignorant or dishonest.

The US has given billions of aid to Ukraine...who has engaged in straight up civilian targeting terrorism in Russia. The US blew up an underwater gas supply pipe in an attempt to cripple Russia's economy. We are condemning thousands of Russian and Ukranian men to death...just to fight our proxy war

Iranians cheer when there’s mass death in America. Let the chips fall where they may.

So im just supposed to blindly believe what more than likely is Israel's one sided narrative about Iran?
Yes.
Iran is the font of all evil in the region.
Next question.
