“Inflation is Transitory” until it’s not

Inflation being transitory was the new talking point for almost a year. With the CPI it’s now 5.4% YoY. This is how they do, repeat it over and over, and now drop the word “transitory”.
The pundits never gave a time period for transitory either. Life itself is transitory. So was it ever “transitory”? If not why was it said over and over for six months.

You hit the nail. 90% of us didn't even know what "transitory" meant when Biden/Psaki/Yellen started dropping that term, but like good little sheep Americans we didn't question why are they using this word salad term and not qualifying/quantifying it with "temporary for no more than 6 months" etc.
Not a peep from the media (even conservative) even questioning why a slippery fish word like that became the headline grabbing key word.

Wait, I thought there was no inflation. In fact, I thought we saved $0.16 on this past Fourth of Huly BBQ.

exactly, if you don't set a target then it's open ended and doesn't mean anything

People keep trying to soften the blow of what is actually happening. It’s all going to get way worse

Jeez, is everything trans now?

Y’all did not know what “transitory inflation” was? Cmon man.

Transitory means waiting until a leftist is out of office to lay blame.

2010-2012 my arse. This was a 3-year period at the very heart of Obama's tenure when the entire world was sucking off the first new black president of the free world. Interest rates were low as hell and there was NOT one single mention of any type of fear about inflation in any of the mainstream headlines. You are trying to re-write history just for a talking point. Absolute bullshite.
ETA: And if what you said was true, you would have seen interest rates rise by dribs and drabs throughout Obama's 2nd term. Hell, I don't even think there was one mere 25 bips hike in his entire 8-year presidency.

Tell that to the Real, the Kroner, the Vietnamese Yuan, the Venezuelan Peso and the dozens and dozens of other currencies that were devalued to nothing over the last century

Google what? The fact that you're wrong AF? There were no recurring headlines and any real fear about "transitory inflation" in Obama's 2 terms to the point that the Fed had to tighten monetary supply. If that was the case, you would have seen interest rates rise even a little. They did not in ALL 8 YEARS especially in the sweet spot of 2010-2012 that you cited which was still the honeymoon phase of Obama.

The cognitive dissonance is making this fun. Do you have any idea what was going on in 2010-2012?

Okay instead of posting memes why don't you enlighten us. Like another poster just asked you, give us the recurring headlines and show us where "transitory" was the hot ticket item in Obama's first term from the 2010-2012 timeframe you cited, so much so that the Feds acted. Not trying to make you defensive, I legitimately want to know. Maybe you honestly have an angle I've never seen before. But that will be hard because I don't have to "Google" anything as I was alive and well informed living in the USA not but 11-12 years ago which is the timeframe you brought up.
