I don’t think we’re the worst, that can’t possibly be true, but I believe smaller homogeneous countries are much less corrupt.

Even with the all that US aid it seems that the Russians have found a way for a win.
Russia expected to capture it within the first 24-48 hours of the invasion. It took them over 7 weeks. That is not a win.

Can we define winning? What do they win exactly?
Even if they hadn't retreated Kyiv and conquered all of Ukraine, Russia is a pariah state to the rest of the world for the foreseeable future with long term heavy economic sanctions.
How is the juice worth that squeeze?

Maybe if the Russian army was marching to Mariupol.
Do you even know where Mariupol is? The city center of Mariupol is less than 60 km from the Russian border. The city center of Mariupol is less than 25 km from the pre-invasion demarcation line between Ukrainian government held territory and the DPR.
