Yep. They’ve destroyed entire cities in Canada and will do the same here. Americans have this illusion all Jeets are smart because their upper class has been the primary immigrant to the US.
The truth is for every intelligent Jeet there are 99 below an 80 IQ. They do not assimilate, worship magical rats, and have zero hygienic standards.
Keep thinking every Jeet is Vivek, you’re going to have a bad time.

Hospitals have found that they can sponsor someone on a work visa and offer to pay them about $75,000 per year less than the going rate. Since foreign doctors who complete a residency still need someone to sponsor them they can’t job shop like an American can. You are right about once an individual of Indian descent gets into a hiring position they only want more Indians.
I thought Trump passed a law where they’re supposed to be paid similar to an American with the same job?

Serious question: you are in data engineering or software development? Are you using the regular tools of the data trade in Dallas like Power BI, Power Apps, DataBricks.....Tableau? Are you involved with Data Warehousing?
I ask because the Indians dominate that field not only in DFW, but also NoVa/MD. They will undercut you on pay all things being equal.
My wife works as a recruiter dealing with folks like you and even though she's involved more with DoD contracts, she has a niche in DFW in that world. She says the thing that drives her crazy are the Indian shops and the Indians overall. Forget the H1B people it's the Green card folks who will work 1099....and I'll bet their resume "looks" better than yours as well. They tend to throw in detail in their resumes.
Americans see their resumes as a pain in the arse. Indians do not. Get hold of an Indian resume and format and then compare it to yours. You probably have done much the same, but you don't say it on paper.
But, on the money end. They are screwing you because they go 1099.....or they are not taking ANY benefits if W2

That's about 65K too many. It's long past time for the USA to stop being a jobs program for third world shitholes.

Ah yes, the useless "Yes Men"
British Commonwealth people excel at this. It's the exact opposite of the Japanese "Kaizen".
We had a system that needed to be fixed and I explained what was wrong, why, and how we should fix it.
These useless middle managers were not equipped to deal with fixing anything.
The best one was my Indian VP who told me that I shouldn't point out things that are broken, I should be "Positive Only".
They laid me off a few months later during the annual purge of high cost employees who know what they're doing. No surprise.

The Indians are all over John’s creek as well and they are starting to creep into Forsyth. We are probably going to move further into the mountains in a few years.
They’re just gonna follow you there too. My suggestion is to move west of 400.

H-B reforms need to happen. Trump failed to do that in his first term.

Exactly.
Yes H-1B hires have to get paid comparable wages but they're willing to take a $150,000/yr job in the Silicon Valley that nobody in their right mind would take due to the cost of living.
But they'll live 4 men in a 2bdr apartment that costs $4,500/mo.
It's not that Americans won't take the job, it's that they won't take it at that price in that high cost of living location.
The other side of the coin is that some employers really like holding their visa sponsorship over their head so they don't jump ship.
The whole program is being abused and should probably be cancelled.

The problem isnt Indian workers, its the local govt that has fricked up the economy so badly that normal people cant make a living.
This is the case across the board. If you want Americans to return to work, they need to be hungry and need to be able to support themselves. That aint happening with "more money"
It will only happen with a sane economy
Posted on 11/28/24 at 7:28 am to Mit Knoblauch
Yep I know public accounting firms that held the sponsorship over heads so foreign employees couldn’t leave

Or we could incentivize Americans the way we incentivize foreigners to replace Americans. But that would be muh rayciss

If we had smart folks who listened to behavioralists instead of politicians, we would stop giving any welfare to able bodied people and support those in low wage jobs with training to advance their careers.
I'd give welfare to workers before bums.

Do you think IT and software engineers are getting welfare?

Yes to those software tools... im more in the data science/machine learning space, less data engineering and data warehousing. More building and deploying predictive models

Thats a pretty broad question. I have no clue if they are or arent.
Most of our welfare goes to keep people from working and to select corporations

I have managed a few of them, worked with a whole bunch of them. Some are great, many are awful.

How do you define welfare?
They get preferred placement in free pre-k programs, preferred placement in schools, and most certainly take advantage of every program they can, and they share the knowledge.

I wasn’t asking about foreigners getting welfare (they are)
Roger is arguing that we “have” to import foreign tech workers
