Travelled to all 50 States, 40+ Countries, and 5 Continents.

Lived overseas for 17+ years.

My assumption is that due to oil, half the baws on this board have worked offshore or in Africa, Asia, or the Middle East.

I'm very fortunate to have experienced all that I have but I didn't need 10 trips to India to know that they suck or 10 trips to Japan to know how awesome they are.

I would love to see a mandatory High School field trip to Africa. Especially for African Americans.
Affluent suburban White women are the cause for the reported increase in autism.

I assumed everyone already knew this.
Firing Kimmel was a mercy killing, doing ABC a favor
I have an acquaintance who is your standard Ivy League diversity admit.

Back during the Summer of Floyd, she wrote on FB about the trauma she experienced being called the N word.

She said that the first time she heard someone call her that, she was like 11 years old.

And by the time she finished college at Columbia, she had been called the N word 4 times.

When I read that, I thought, wow. Four whole times. Definitely sounds debilitating.
There are ways to get it paid for.

Especially with high school dual credit these days, JuCo, etc.

Nevermind GI Bill, etc.

I'm not saying everyone has to spend 4 years on campus and join a fraternity/sorority.

But, I can tell you that in the Tech field, I see non-college grads with experience who can do good work. But, the college grad is a safer bet.

And we're all competing against offshore / outsourcing these days so, we've got to be as productive as we can if we want to keep Americans employed in 6 figure jobs.
The point of college isn't to learn the latest hype cycle software language.

It's to demonstrate that you can complete uncomfortable tasks over an extended period of time. Especially written work. Also to prove that you have some problem solving ability.

If you can do all those things, jumping on the latest software trend can be taught.
Did those guys stop and destroy a Waymo driverless vehicle?

Think of the possibilities of summoning driverless Ubers/Waymo cars to a location during a riot.

Congratulations!

I recently attended a Citizenship Induction Ceremony for a Russian friend who I helped bring over.

At his ceremony, there were 41 people from 28 countries and not one complainer or protester in the group.

I wish more native born Americans were aware of the process.
Exactly.

Yes H-1B hires have to get paid comparable wages but they're willing to take a $150,000/yr job in the Silicon Valley that nobody in their right mind would take due to the cost of living.

But they'll live 4 men in a 2bdr apartment that costs $4,500/mo.

It's not that Americans won't take the job, it's that they won't take it at that price in that high cost of living location.

The other side of the coin is that some employers really like holding their visa sponsorship over their head so they don't jump ship.

The whole program is being abused and should probably be cancelled.
Ah yes, the useless "Yes Men"

British Commonwealth people excel at this. It's the exact opposite of the Japanese "Kaizen".

We had a system that needed to be fixed and I explained what was wrong, why, and how we should fix it.

These useless middle managers were not equipped to deal with fixing anything.

The best one was my Indian VP who told me that I shouldn't point out things that are broken, I should be "Positive Only".

They laid me off a few months later during the annual purge of high cost employees who know what they're doing. No surprise.
I thought that what the Covid masks were for.
I think Lawrence in Office Space said it best - "Watch out for your cornhole"
A couple months ago, Royce made some comments Whitlock didn't like because it involved Mark Levin who apparently runs The Blaze who cuts Whitlock's paycheck.
I haven't been back to 5 Guys since peak scamdemic when I was doing some "essential worker" work in Phoenix in July 2020.

You could go inside their air conditioned restaurant to order but you had to eat outside in the 107F heat.
Indians are pricing themselves out of the offshore market now that they cost 1/3 the price of Americans.

Firms are looking to places like Costa Rica and Poland where they can get workers who are equally incapable for 1/5 the price of an American.

re: Texags: crap moderation

I almost gave up that site during COVID when the moderation was out of hand.

I like TD for the true free speech over here. Don't have that same TexAgs worry about what comments will due to recruiting.

One lesson I learned over there is that their moderators do not tolerate anything that might paint the Gee At Why agenda in a negative light.
It always cracks me up when politicians claim their rival is unqualified for the job.

President of the USA has only two requirements.

1- Be 35 y/o by the time you take office on January 20th.
2- Be born an American citizen.

That's it.

Now you would hope that a country with 330M people could produce better candidates but, apparently we can't.
No Quarter will be given to Medical workers, Education workers, Journalists or Politicians who wanted to ruin my livelihood because I refused to participate in big pharma's medical experiment.

Remember the slogan about "get the vax and get your life back"?
I went to Kindergarten in Valdez, Alaska so here's how it was explained to us.

Have you seen the Valdez Glacier at the edge of town, or the Columbia Glacier from the ferry on the way to Whittier?

Glaciers used to cover most of the Northern Hemisphere but the world has been warming up for about the past 10,000 years so the glaciers have been receding and leaving little icebergs in their path.

The End
