Missiles sucked pretty hard back then. They don't now.

Have there been any reports of how many were fired? I’m guessing 200 or more? No one has the missile jamming and countermeasures that the USA has.
But I’m curious to see more details for sure

From what I have read it sounds like 30ish Pakistani jets fired off an unknown Chinese made air to air missiles from beyond visual range at 70 or more Indian jets. The Indian jets returned fire with an unknown number of European made missiles. Both sides then retreated back further into their own airspace. Pakistan got at least 2 kills and possibly as many as 5 kills. India got none. It does not sound like there was much to see from the ground.
So were they even close enough to lock on? Or just pulling Randy Quaid from Independence Day firing a barrage blindly?
