Income taxes. More income, More income taxes.

Why is this hard? Trump understands this.
More people in the workforce...More Federal revenue.
Better paying jobs...More Federal revenue.
More stateside jobs...More Federal revenue.
Can someone shoot JBE a text and explain this to him?

That's too difficult... the extra step of growth.
Easier to just go straight to taxes.
Easier to just go straight to taxes.

Nothing against you, but the term "federal revenue" pisses me off to no end.
They didn't earn shite. It would be like saying a pick pocket had a few hundred dollars in "revenue" last month.

No problem. I get it.
Call it what you will, I have no problem paying my share for infrastructure, security, and some nice parks. The rest pisses me off too.

Because if they tax the producers they still get money and more unemployed living off the government.

i guess a clearly-stated thesis is too much to ask for
all we get is some version of "less taxes => more tax revenue" ?

Ok since you're being sincere and earnest in your intentions I'll explain what's going on in this thread.
JBE wants to renew LA tax to make up for budget deficit.
OP, like many others, is frustrated in the lack of progress JBE has made to increase state revenue through growth.
Oh and as to a specific growth plan... that's really JBE and his administration's job to come up with.
I'm sure there are more competent people in the private sector that can do this...but (chuckle)... they have day jobs.

New Industry.
New jobs.
Support for education.
Infrastructure.
Less regulation.
Less income taxes.
JBE is a tax and spend liberal. He not much different than those that cam before him. He nothing special, but he's the HNIC now.

i saw the report by the Buckeye Institute about the downside impact of the proposed partial sales tax renewal
even their estimates unambiguously imply that growth from a tax cut won't come close to bringing in more revenue thru faster growth than would be lost simply by the rate cut
we have to cut spending or raise taxes, or probably actually do both. we're too far gone for tax cut magic to save us

Noooo! See that's the kind of thinking that gets government into this kind of mess.
This is not a binary cut or raise taxes. It's that there hasn't been enough focus by the administration on growing the economy or diversifying it away from oil so that we are not hostage to the oil market.
And I'm not saying go give tax cuts to the movie industry as a means of diversification. Actually quite the opposite. The only thing more short sighted than tax increases are blanket tax cuts.
We need our government to focus on growth. Taxes should be a last resort and come up WAY too often on both sides.
There are smarter policies than blanket raises or blanket cuts.
