Society is placing people in discrete silos and categories, such that we are moving towards the point where we have fewer and fewer opportunities to interact with those whose opinions differ from our own.

“Think like me, or go away.”

RIP critical thinking.

I can’t even remember where I saw it. But a critic noted that American media companies are going the way of the British press - where everyone has a partisan angle, and explicitly caters to that. It’s the shift from being regional outlets, that had to cater to broad local audiences, to ones that speak to narrow national audiences.

I think it’s already true, but many members of the press, companies like the Post and the Times, don’t acknowledge that.

By the same stroke, yes, he Facebooks and YouTubes of the world are also doing the same thing. So you will need conservative alternatives.

Yeah we're already there.

I'm putting money on the DNC using slush funds to pay media for the slant.

Gab has no real censorship. Libs can get on there and spew bs also, without fear of being banned.

The problem is that on main stream social media, conservatives do not have a voice, while Libs can "get on there and spew bs".

The truth is out there. Unfortunately, there is little time left to go out and find it before it is censored to oblivion.

the problem with facebook news is that you typically see what news that other people share. Most of your "friends" have similar views. So you only see things that reaffirm you biases. So people are just more and more entrenched in their tribalist bubbles. This isn't a knock on either side, I just don't think that is a healthy way to consume news.

We're moving away from it. It's the new age of social Puritanism.

Are you arguing Facebook should be forced to bake you a cake for your gay wedding, or are you simply observing the free market should fill in the gap at tome point?

And to the guy who noted Apple/Google ran off the Gap platform which was trying to offer a conservative alternative... Do you think they should be forced to allow the app on their platform?

well, when apple/google combined own 99.999999% of all mobile devices..i guess in your world its ok they control all apps used on it too, right?

i mean..if i dont like it i could just go whip up my own alternative to iOS and android so my free speech app can be installed on it right?

That's a personal ignorance problem. It's why we should be encouraging civil discourse wherever we can.
