UK has a police camera everywhere in the major cities and fairly good coverage in small villages. They don't have the same history with freedom of speech and assembly as us because we got ours by going a different path from where they were already at and heading in the future.
US isn't perfect and we've eroded many of our rights and construction of our country (particularly checks and balances) but we've got a lot going for us.

We just fought the largest wildfire in recorded Upstate SC history, and law enforcement and firefighters and community members would meet and have public prayer sessions daily. But we are admittedly in one of the most conservative Christian areas in the entire world.

Oh sure. Maybe the Christians might be safe where you are. But, to be blunt, there is NO SHORTAGE whatsoever of shitty policing video coming from such areas involving officers who know the law about as well as your typical middle schooler with a daddy named Bubba.
The conservative blind loyalty to the police is eventually going to fade but damn, it sure is intransigent. And it's silly because 99% of the reason conservatives are blind to it is simply a reaction to how stupid black people are on the subject of policing. It's like, "they're retarded on the subject, so we really just don't look at it much".
