If that's your interpretation of the presence of "Creator" you're reaching very hard. That's not making something clear.
They said our rights came from the creator. Please, tell me who this creator is whom they are addressing?

And who would that be? Are you telling me that in a nation that almost exclusively worshipped a Judeo-Christian God at the time, that their reference to a Creator was somehow, someone else?
Why didn't they just say "God", then?

Why does the issue of removing an essentially non-religious statement get brought up every election cycle? Who brings it up? Are you perplexed by their position?
It’s pandering by the left and the right. Identity politics. I don’t care one way or the other.
That being said, there was no good reason to put it on the dollar in the first place. So, if you have to pick a side, I do think the onus is on the religious folks to explain why those words just had to be put on the dollar

The vagueness seems to be there to allow for it to mean different things for different people.

And?

How would that change anything? Everyone at that time knew who the creator was. There is also scores of papers written by these same founders where the words God and Jesus Christ are mentioned.
Are you suggesting that they were talking about Zeus?

They tried to throw the word God out of the Dem Platform in the NC 2016 Convention. The Obama Operatives stepped in a shut it down, to loud protests from the MAJORITY of the Convention.

And your summary that it was just some politician jiving with some Muslim pirates is incorrect.
You think you know more about America's foundation than our Senate did in the 1790's?
Keep in mind, there wasn't a single vote against this treaty.

Yet Christians think removing it will make the country devoid of religion. It’s a very perplexing position to take.
Annnnd..yet anti religious people think that having it establishes an official religion. It's a very perplexing position to take.

Understanding their intent and other writings should tell you that they did this intentionally. Regardless of what they personally believed, they didn't want that as the foundation of our country.

So you're perplexed about the position of religious people and the right reading religion into the statement, but you are not perplexed by the position of non-religious people and the left reading religion into the statement?

Actually, the onus for giving justification would be on the people who made that decision. Apparently they gave adequate justification as proved on our currency.
If removing it is what one wants, the onus is now on them to justify that decision.
If someone wanted to turn our money purple, would you say the onus was on everyone else to justify why it's not already purple?

You're surprised that a Christian interpretation of "Creator" ends up that way?

Are you suggesting that they were talking about Zeus?
I'm suggesting that the vagueness of that term leaves it open to the individual. Some of our prominent founding fathers were deists.

I know it goes both ways but the religious folks lobbied for its inclusion in the first place. So the onus is on them to explain why the government wastes the ink.
The reason it was put on there was to pander to the religious folks. That’s the only reason

I guess being pro-illegal high tax race baiters just isn’t repugnant enough.

Depending on how you measure it, "the entire foundation of our country" did fine without it for 90 to 180 years, the latter being the more relevant by far, IMO.

I could not care less about inclusion of the phrase. I do wonder, though, how that phrase is government endorsement of a religion. Which religion does it endorse?
