In 2010 the Democrats lost 63 house seats and 6 Senate seats

The Republicans might lose 30 House seats and gain 5 Senate seats in 2018

popular vote differential was smaller in '10. The way districts are drawn makes a huge difference.

Yeah, the fact that Wyoming has about 2% of the population of California and the same number of Senators shows the advantage a party that caters to the rural/small population states.
