It was banned in the 80's shortly after it hit the charts. The ban was based on nationalism, religion and firearms. This shite has been happening for a long time.

He would have been around 30 in 1977
According to the video posted by Cajunangelles, he said it happened to him in the mid sixties…
He wrote the song in 77…

Some of y’all don’t comprehend, he said he was abducted in 64 or 65…
Would’ve made him 17 or 18….
The song is from ‘77…

Sammy is a very cool guy, have had dealings with him in the past thru mutual friends and family when I lived in Cabo in the early 90’s.
Dude was nothing but laid back, friendly and down to earth!
Music wise, he made VH better

I’ll repeat myself, he said he was abducted in 64 or 65, which made him 18 when it supposedly happened…
The song is from 77… yes when he was 30…

Sammy Hagar, born on October 13, 1947, has publicly claimed multiple extraterrestrial encounters, but his most discussed "abduction" (described as aliens tapping into his mind via a wireless connection for a download/upload) occurred in the mid-1960s, specifically around 1964–1965 (or sometimes referenced as circa 1967 in interviews).
This means he was approximately 17–20 years old at the time:In 1964: age 17 (turning 17 that October)
In 1965: age 18
In 1967: age 20
He detailed this in his 2011 autobiography Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock and later interviews (e.g., with Mystery Wire in 2021 and Howard Stern), insisting it "100% happened" while he was asleep, feeling "programmed" by beings in a spacecraft.
He also mentioned a separate childhood experience at age 4 (around 1951), where he saw a UFO hovering over a field, but that's typically described as a sighting rather than an abduction.

Everyone on this site is so quick to try to point out when they think someone is wrong… sometimes it’s like a dick measuring contest….
Yet they look like fools…
Thanks for posting…

I stand corrected, sir. My apologies.

That does happen. It is foolishness, I agree. But I was just really trying to figure out how old he was when he was abducted...
LSD wasn't trendy until the 70's but what do I know?

Oof, that song is pretty bad.
It was a bad period for pop songs. Hard rock (now called classic rock) period had ended and disco came in.

Why couldn't they have kept him?
