They have to vote on whether this is even Constitutional or not before the real trial even begins. Rand Paul and several other Republicans are saying its not Constitutional so they have to go through this first.
I noticed these Dem lawyers aren't mentioning the part in the Constitution where it says the chief justice has to preside.

Okay, I didn't know this. Does this measure get passed with a simple majority? If so they need to speed this up because the Dems have 50 + 1.

Creative argument that actually bolsters argument that senate has no constitutional authority to try impeachments of former presidents. On the other hand, if the claim to have jurisdiction retroactively or because he was impeached while a sitting president, CJ has to preside. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

This was a lie and pissed people off.
At the last minute they changed the rules about the two sets of elector slates sent but no one knew until it was too late.
Anyone with a brain & common sense knows Trump asked for them to rally. As they had rallied on Dec 12th & weeks before. He asked for them to rally to show in number how he won.
He in no way knew antfa would bird dog.
In a truthful govt the evidence should come out that it was a bird dog set-up but it won't...
