If the vote stays like this, they can't convict. Need 67 votes to convict. The Dims won't get it. It's a complete waste of time and money at a time when they should all be getting the economy going and getting people back to work and kids in school. Buffoonery.

Read an interesting article today that conviction is 2/3 of senators present. Conceivably, 20 or so GOP Senators could not show for the vote and that 2/3 threshold gets much, much lower (and doable).
They’d still get eviscerated by the Trump base, but they wouldn’t have to cast a vote.

Yes, that's what the debate was for today. Okay, technically, it was whether to hold the trial or not, since Trump was already impeached wrongfully for a second time.
But yes, they voted today to go ahead with the trial.

If they convict him the GOP is done forever. But in their bubble they don't think we will stay home and allow more pure communism via the CCP.
