I'm a legal novice and want to make sure that I understand today's events

I'm not really worried, but I also lack the requisite knowledge of our legal procedures to be able to put into words why I'm not terribly concerned.
I understand that nothing we learned today actually deals with "collusion between Trump and Russia to impact our 2016 elections", but then again nothing that we've seen or heard in over a year has anything to do with that (aside form a clearly fabricated "dossier" by an opposition research party), and yet here we still are and the media has been harping on it nonstop the entire time.
Is it fair to say that basically Mueller doesn't really have anything on Trump regarding "collusion with Russia regarding the 2016 election", so he's being thorough and swampy and simply building the case for a future "obstruction of justice" charge against either DJT himself, or DJT Jr or Kushner (or all three)?

Flynn pled guilty to lying to the FBI about the same shite he lied to Pence about. The same stuff that got him fired.
The "turning on Trump" stuff is fantasy. His interactions with foreign powers on behalf of the CIC during the transition are appropriate and expected of an incoming NSI.

He's looking for process crimes because the speculated crimes that were the basis of his appointment don't exist.
But don't be complacent, process crimes look nasty and can slow down making America Great Again. You can't simply dismiss them.

True, but we knew Manafort sucked from the Get go, and knew that Flynn fricked up when Pence told him he was ashamed of him, but he would still love him...
Made Flynn cry

he has 17 truckloads filled with evidence of crimes committed by hillary, obama, lynch, holder, comey, and just about everyone in obamas whitehouse.
on trump he has manafort who did unrelated deals not connected to trump in any way but werent above board legally, and he has flynn who made promises that he wasnt authorized to make and trump fired him for it. that just about covers it

It’s a pretty common tactic used by prosecutors. Theoretically Flynn flips on people senior to him. Mueller goes after those he flips on. One or more of those people flip on yet more people.
I’m not saying any of that will happen, but that is the basic tactic.

Flynn has apparently agreed to plead and turn states witness regarding being instructed to make contact with the russian government by someone in the trump administration. trump admin to this point vehemently denying that they ever gave such instructions or that there was ever any contact. this appears not to be true now based on flynn forthcoming testimony. The context of that contact and depth of the interaction with the russian govt is next area of focus for Mueller. Kushner apparently in Mueller sights now as the one that instructed Flynn to make contact. Edging ever closer to the inner circle.... getting interesting.

So, General Flynn “fell on the sword” in the interests of the country let’s say.
Where does this go from here?
Does he:
A) have dirt on the Obama admin?
B) have dirt on the Trump admin?
C) dirt on the alphabet groups of the fed?
D) have nothing further to offer, wants the Russian collusion issue to finally end, and go about his way?
I want to think there is nothing major, in respect to fallout, about any of this. I know that’s unlikely.

Why does Trump need Russian banking?

Excuse for what? I'm not following this very closely.

He’s rolling up the guys who would know if there was any “collusion” on behalf of Team Trump.
What he plans to then do with that collusion is anyone’s guess since collusion (absent directing the Russians to hack) isn’t a crime.

frick if anyone knows. This could go so many different ways at this poin that there is limited value in speculation.
It all depends on what Flynn said. Then it depends on what the next set of interviewee’s say. So forth and so on.
