re: If you voted against Clinton instead of for Trump

I'm not quite sure what you're asking exactly. I will just add, I can't quite think of a single scenario whereby I wouldn't vote AGAINST Hillary Clinton in any election in which she's running and in which I can vote.

At the time, I voted for Trump because I thought he was "the lesser of two evils". Agreed with everything he said but ironically didn't know how his brashness would go over politically in order to get the things he wanted done.
My mind had been so conditioned to thinking things had to be done the same old diplomatic and "political" way but boy, was I wrong. His brashness and fighting-back is now my favorite trait of his.
What a fricking awakening HE has been for me. I always thought I had an idea of the corruption in our government but it turns out I wasn't even in the ball park.
What a clear difference there is when you don't have a career politician in office. I mean WOW. It has shined a massive, bright light on an infestation.

It's an interesting point. I don't think trump is a ideologically conservative as Cruz, but I don't know if Cruz could withstand the liberal sky screaming from all angles. Trump just laughs and attacks more and more.
It maybe something to consider in the future, the lesser conservative with thicker skin may govern more conservatively than the more ideologically pure conservative with some degree of sensitivity for progressives.

Some people voted against Clinton but not necessarily for Trump. I voted for Trump, not against Clinton. Just wondering about the voters of the first option. Would your vote now still be against Clinton or for Trump?
That's the best I can do.

I do think we’d have bigger tax cuts and Obamacare would be completely done with Cruz.
I voted for Cruz in my primary. I'm still basically convinced he wanted/wants to do those things. I'm not sure, however, how he gets this Congress on board for those if he's in the place of Trump at this point in time.

I still hate Clinton more than I like Trump. I generally like Trump so far, though.

Both suck
Trump is as bad as I expected.
While she is corrupt and stupid, he's venal and in over his head. "I will hire the best people" to deal with our problems.. And irl, he brought in a team of duds.
Bernie was the better choice.

I voted for Trump because I wanted someone who could not be bought by lobbyist and the mafia.

I voted against Hillary in the 2016 election. Knowing what I know now, I would campaign for Trump.

Instead you got o and g and coal lobbyists and Russians.

Yeah, socialism is the best ever. It’s always worked all the time.

Tell me, how has he shown that he’s in over his head?

I voted against both Trump and Hillary. And I'd do it again.

I am a lifetime libertarian GOP voter in a state so-red that my unborn grandchildren will not need to worry about statewide Dem officeholders (OK, maybe a BIT of exaggeration). In 2016, my loathing of Trump was exceeded only by my loathing of HRC, but I would have voted Trump if Texas had been remotely-close. In the real world, I could safely vote LPA, which I did for the first time in my life.
Today, I would do exactly the same, except I might be SLIGHTLY less nauseated voting for Trump, if necessary.
I understand that Trumpettes love the guy, but from a policy perspective I don’t see him doing much that any GOP candidate would not have done. Policy-wise, he just isn’t that special, and he is still a disgusting human being.

Looking for some affirmations? You are in the right place.

You’re probably on to something here. I think it has a lot to do with Trump being around these types of people for most of his adult life and I would imagine had a helluva time triggering the frick out of them as a private citizen.

So, you're one of the people that don't really understand our political process and its current framework. But, yeah, LOOK AT ME!!!!

I have pondered exactly that.
I'm afraid we are working ourselves into a trap though. I don't think there is any chance that we will have a similar situation after Trump's second term.
What are the chances that we'll see another candidate who is slightly coarse, slightly vulgar, very boisterous and in your face, and yet means every fracking word he says? A candidate who make promises like every successful republican candidate I've ever seen since 1988, but instead of it being lip service, meant to by God accomplish what he promised? I'm 48, it's happened twice in my lifetime.
It will be easy to be fooled by someone who patterns their mannerisms after Trump, who then governs like Bush 2.

I voted against HRC initially. I wasn't a Trump fan either but he was definitely the lesser of 2 evils in my opinion. Sanders wasn't even a possibility. He's in bed with the Demoncrats.
I was a Carson fan, but in the primary I supported Trump and in the main election of course I voted Trump.
Would I do it again after what I've seen from Trump? You bet your sweet arse I would. The man has done phenomenal things all the while keeping the MSM guessing and hating him more because he's not part of the DC Good Ole boy network. That Stormy Daniels bullshite and the Russain Collusion bullshite is just like Obama's birth certificate. Smokescreen by the media to keep Trump from looking good. That's all they got. They can't do anything else. Once people see that, he's a shoe in for a 2nd term.

I didn't vote for either. I went third party, but I said this 8 months ago and it still holds true. Had I known that Trump's election would result in the absolute meltdown we've seen from the left, I would have voted for him.
So, knowing what I know today, you're damn right I'd vote for Trump.
