I will always take bad democracy over bad dictator.

McCain as POTUS or Obama as dictator?

Agreed but he's also along in years. With his lifestyle choices, it's doubtful he'd be able to run for a 3rd term if he wanted to and could legally. Even if he was dictator until he died, it'd probably be a relatively short period of time and then America would be cleansed and ready for another few hundred years of prosperity.

You do understand that this just means people who can't pull in a good bit over $2500 a month will just find a reason why they can't work and collect the $2500 right?

And you understand the following don't you?

1. We currently spend more than $2500 per month per adult on welfare anyway So just handing out the straight cash would be cheaper than the current system

2. If the proposed system were in place , the lower wage employers would still need employees , they would just have to offer more to get those employees, because you are correct, who would work at McDonalds making $2200 a month and get the extra $300 a month from the government when they could just stay home and collect the full $2500?

But, you forgot the most important aspect of all too. I CLEARLY stated that if you are capable of working but choose not to, you get NOTHING. So the choice isn't really $2200 from McD + $300 from the government or $2500 from the USG, its $2200 + 300 or ZERO.

And I clearly stated ways around your prohibition will be found. Just like they are today. It doesn't take much to find a dishonest doctor to say you have some sort of debilitating ailment...a definition that expands each year.

It's why SSDI costs us far, far more than traditional welfare (SNAP, EBT, etc.).

You're handing people an incentive not to work, so they will find ways not to.

I would take up arms and revolt against anyone who tried to become a dictator in the U.S. whether that person tilted my way ideologically or not. I would hope that everyone else in this thread thinks the same.

when has something like that ever happened with a dictator? I think Washington would be the closest example to somebody giving up the power. Napoleon in a way as well but he was still the emperor.

I'm dictator, I can just kill people who "find a way around" my very generous program's limits.

Yep.

The word dictator was used within the context of Trump fulfilling all of his campaign promises. Dictator in this sense is essentially an all-powerful ruler, not necessarily a despot.

As you said, Washington refused to continue on as President because he didn't want to be a king nor did he think that America should go back to the ways of a monarchy. I agree with that.

What I see today is a man who loves this country and is doing everything in his power to make this a better place to live. He's doing it unselfishly. If Trump can drain the swamp like he promised, it will be like an enema that cleans out the government and makes it a more functional system for whoever is elected after him.

And to be clear, I don't actually want Trump or anyone else to be a dictator with no term limits. I'd be happy for Trump to accomplish everything he said in two terms and then gracefully hand over the keys to the next elected person.

Democratic candidates are the pathway to dictatorship. We see that with the policies their party supports today, which are at least anti-1st and 2nd amendment.
