First list that I read all of, 4 of them by the time I finished 8th grade at St John’s. There was a time that I lived to read, much as kids live to stare at their phones now..

Read both when I was in high school.

Problem with 1984 is that the surveillance state depicted essentially exists with ubiquitous social media and "smart" phones. It's less a cautionary tale than it is ironic (not to mention that Democrats and Europeans have adopted it as a users guide).

True. The amazing thing about the study is that it had to be very long term and the people who started the study knew they would be dead before the results came in.
