His primary purpose of wanting Ukraine is agriculture. Russia is very large but a small percentage of that land is fertile or has a long growing season. Ukraine supplied a lot of food during the USSR days. And the USSR still had food shortages.

With the way Europe has financially / militarily treated and extorted us since WWII, why should we give a damn what Putin does re: the Baltic States?
Trump has tried to get them to pay the minimum amount they all agreed to for that Treaty’s defense budget requirements, and the majority of them outright refuse.

Extorted? We invested in Europe after WWII to are strategic benefit. It’s allowed us to wield tremendous influence in world events and has led to the most prosperous era in human history.

So why would we be transporting or importing oil in the Blak Sea beyond the coastal waters along the Southern and Western edge? Those shipments into Turkey are not being molested nor is anything going into Romania or Bulgaria.
