I'm inclined to agree with the OP. War with Syria/Russia would be disastrous. As much as I love the guy, I'd have to endorse an anti-war candidate in 2020 if Our President starts something.

Why would assad drop chem weapons when we just announced we’re leaving? Why do it while we are still there? It makes no strategic sense. At all.
