re: If US/NATO didn’t provoke war w/ Ukraine, then how was it predicted years ago they would?

Ukraine, the country invaded twice in 8 years, hasn't been neutral? When did they invade another state?
Are they a member of NATO? The EU?
Somebody on here yesterday linked a WSJ article that some pact entered into November was one of the things that made Russia snap. I think the combination of that and concern that Ukraine was becoming a puppet (see Bidens, Romneys, Kerrys, and Pelosis employed by Ukrainian companies) and they decided to flip the game board. It was a dumb move, but I understand why they did it.

Russia invades and kills people. Ask Georgia and Crimea.
Um, why exactly do you think they did that lol? THEY DO NOT WANT these border countries trying to join NATO.
There is no “If Ukraine joined NATO”, because it isn’t an option as Russia will do what they are doing now before they allow it. Ukraine trying to join is why this is happening.

You're right. The agreement was signed by the U.K., U.S. and Russia vowing to acknowledge and "respect" the sovereignty of Ukraine, an agreement Russia has consistently violated. Also part of the agreement was to give up all nuclear weapons in the possession of Ukraine.
Obviously this agreement in the eyes of Putin was just "so much paper" and without the nuclear option, Ukraine lost any leverage it may have held to keep Russia in check.

Russia doesn't want a neutral Ukraine. They want a puppet state. That's the first flaw in this argument.
They want a puppet state because Ukraine keeps trying to join NATO.

Would you feel the same?
Lord I can't believe this shitty NPC argument is still being repeated

No. They want a puppet state and NATO ensures that's not possible

So why did they invade Germany in 1914? Poland in 39? Finland in 39? Hungary in 56? Afghanistan? Georgia? Crimea?

All of this death could have been avoided had there been an effort to reach a deal where Ukraine is neutral instead of backing Russia into a corner
Also, Russia invading Ukraine quite literally does the opposite, it validates Ukraines push to join NATO.
If Ukraine is a NATO country, how exactly does that back Russia into a corner? It only does so under kbe condition... That Russia plans to invade Ukraine. If they didn't, what effect does it have on Russia?

and I don’t see all these dead people as being worth the insistence on becoming a member of NATO.

it was predictable when Biden reversed the Trump energy policies in his first 2 weeks in office. It was further predictable by Biden's chicken shite show in Afghanistan by just about every commentator on the scene. And then Biden invited Putin in when he told him a minor incursion was ok. Has Putin's desire for expansionism ever been in doubt by anyone? Seriously?

Because the powers that be wanted war. Make no mistake this would not be happening if anyone gave a shite. War is profit for a few on the backs and lives of the little people. Always has been.

Why do you dismiss it? Just curious.
I put myself in other countries shoes to get a feeling of where they are coming from.
What’s NPC?

What is shitty is that US,UK,and Russia sign a pact about Ukraine’s sovereignty. What gives those three the right to that.
frick all of them for that.
While they did this they were all shaking down Ukraine.

While I agree on an objective level, we're kind of fricking Ukraine and ignoring their sovereignty.
Sfp, they haven't been close to a sniff of sovereignty since 2014 and even then they were a Russian puppet/buffer regime.
Repeating that lie is a problem. They are a fake regime, color revolutioned into power, propped up by neonazi aggression units, and given a colorful actor as a pm.
The actual Ukranian people don't give 2 fricks for their government because they're SELECTED, NOT ELECTED...is this becoming familiar yet...
Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Syria, Yemen...and on and on...

If by Ukraine, you mean World Bank puppet regime then the point is moot...the whole point at the highest level is to take down non-participation countries (Russia in this case) or use them as the big-bad-evil-guy.
