Split it into 2 parts. Persia and Elam. It’s old historical names. One Christian the other Islamic. They could keep each other from meddling all over the Middle East

I did a paper in college about that. The overwhelming majority of issues in the Middle East today are because of how the lines were drawn post WW1 largely with disregard with consideration for existing religious sect territories.
The west really, really fricked it all up.

Persia was the English name. They have called it Iran for a long time.
Kind of like how Japan is Nippon. Iran means land of Aryans and the name is older than 1935.

The proper historical name of the country is Iran.
