Going back to college physics, it's not the electrons. It's the magnetic force that produces a electromagnetic field orthogonal to to the magnetic field that is beyond the carrying capacity of the conductive wire, so it just burns up like a light bulb filament.

I looked into EMP Shield and saw enough debunking by physicists to believe that it's just a BS gimmick. They're cheap so I did install one on my "bugout" vehicle just in case it should happen to work, but I fully expect my means of conveyance to be my feet, a mule or a horse, should SHTF.

The fact is, a lot of EMP study on things like vehicle electrical systems and components is just "educated estimation". The gov knows more about it than we ever will from prior nuclear detonations testing, but they'll be certain that they keep those findings to themselves.

Correct. However, they would only need one to trigger a mass panic in the rest of the country.

We would find out what our true Classified defenses are from such a strike. Hypersonic missles to destroy the incoming?

Russia or China responsible? World war 3.

Iran or North Korea? They are vaporized.

That kind of EMP would occur through a high-altitude detonation, not from a one-off ground burst in a city.

I would expect any attack to come from a high altitude detonation.

The US is resource-rich almost everywhere, and a ground-burst would render a large but isolated segment of that ground uninhabitable basically for the duration of Earth's existence. Anyone wanting to cause chaos and sow the seeds for Americans to destroy themselves would use a high altitude and EMP to do so, and preserve the resources by protecting the land below from being long term irradiated and from a majority of fallout.

If we're talking about ground detonations, that's nasty business. There would certainly be a far more limited EMP but the overall permanent loss of resource would be incalculable.

I have not researched it but people with metal roofs should have their electrical equipment more safe from an EMP (or CME) than people without. Especially electrical equipment under the center of the roof. It's a faraday cage effect. It's the reason why you are relatively safe in your car during a lightening storm. It's not the tires, it's the metal cage surrounding you that protects you from lightening.

and a suspect Nation could claim plausible deniability, like using a suitcase nuke.

Well its a good thing that the southern border is secure and Iran cannot get something across.

Whew. Im glad the adults are back in charge.

Congress would quickly vote on some sort of resolution on what to do that would also include banning trump from the 2024 election and 100 billion in aid to Ukraine in the fine print

Assuming they hit the most effective target, most of Congress will be dust.

They'd all be in bunkers after receiving word that a strike was going to happen several weeks in advance

Lots of prophetic talk about the Super Bowl this weekend. I wouldn't't be anywhere near it.

There are all manner of helpful videos on the YT also, that train you how to build simple home-based faraday cages from many items readily available to the public such as galvanized steel trash cans. I've got a couple sealed and stuffed with battery banks, walkie talkies, flashlights, and a few other helpful things I won't disclose.

It's definitely worth the expense to give you a leg-up on pretty much everyone else, should the unthinkable occur.

I spent a fair amount of money on things like this, whilst simultaneously praying that it's just a waste of money and I never need them. But the way things are going, I'd rather be prepared than not. If nothing else, preppers will have a field day if my stuff is auctioned off when I die . I'm up to about 18 months worth of long term mylar stored and freeze dried foods, and still building supply.

Brandon, along with the rest of the Democrats/RINOS would surrender, if the attackers were Communists.

China recently discovered water in the fuel tanks of their newest missiles. Seems Communist Generals don't appreciate their pay either. A lot of Officers recently disappeared ....

China was attempting to increase their delivery potential from 100 to 1,000 bombs.....

The same China that recalled all of their troops from Mongolia ......poorly trained and poorly equipped.

The same Chinese supposedly preparing to invade Taiwan from the sea ....

If the strike was limited to DC it just might save the country!
