They may be able to shock and awe a few large coastal cities but the largest standing army on earth is there to protect the landmass. No invading country could ever hope to occupy the USA. People tend to dismiss just how large of an area the US occupies.

This is like asking what would happen if the Saints were able to sign Superman.
China would be unable to cross the ocean with an invasion force. Russia can't beat a Ukraine armed with a smattering of American weapons. How do you think they would do against Alaskans armed with the whole panoply? BTW, Alaskans are not pussies like inhabit the Lower 48. In Alaska, the women are like men and the men are like animals.
I would go so far as to say, other than sinking the Chinese ships, we could ignore the whole thing. I don't think a Russian army could advance all the way across Alaska even if they were completely unopposed.

Neither country has anything close to the logistical resources necessary to mount an invasion. China is especially laughable. They literally only have a handful of Naval ships that are capable of sailing more than a few hundred miles from their coast. Russia of course would have to get their entire military to Siberia and just cross the Bering Strait (leaving their borders with 16 countries unprotected) and they don't have the ability to make the trip either.
This of course assumes that our Navy stands down. You know, the most powerful Navy in the history of the world? Any 1 of our Super Carrier Groups could destroy the entire Russian or Chinese Navy in short order and we have 10 of them. China has 2 small Carriers and Russia has 1, neither of which is a match for any of ours. It's very unlikely the Chinese would actually make it past Japan with anyone still alive. BTW, Japan is also our ally and hates the Chinese and the Japanese Navy would crush the Chinese Navy even without our help.
So then let's assume our Navy stands down and they just let them invade. You do realize we have far superior air and ground forces as well, right? That's without any of the civilians getting involved in the most heavily armed country in the world and the massive geographic advantages we have count for nothing.
It's simply one of those ideas that sounds good as a topic but is idiotic to anyone that understands a map and the military.

But to answer generally, obviously if it goes nuclear we all lose. But otherwise, we'd blast Russia and China right off the map very quickly. We'd likely lose a lot of soldiers but we'd basically destroy virtually every inch of military might they have, and they'd never fully recover.
