The only thing I hear people who would easily vote for Rispone but aren’t say is that he doesn’t have any plans. They say, “what’s he going to do?”

It’s sad but I’m starting to think Edwards is going to win because Republican enthusiasm isn’t high because Rispone didn’t really have a platform. He’s an empty suit. I’m saying this as a person who voted for him and as person who has tried to convince others to vote him.

I converted two Edwards primary voters to Rispone and convinced another not to vote for either. I guess I did my part.

Everyone on this board criticizes Dems for voting lock step, but now you hate others for not doing the same.

All I am saying is call your friends or family and try to convince them to vote for Rispone before they make a mistake. Constitutional convention, lower insurance, less taxes, LSU football, more businesses and jobs, etc.

I have been saying this for months.

People are more apt to follow someone with a plan...even a shitty plan...versus someone that stands there shrugging their shoulders.

Rispone has received terrible advice and guidance in this campaign. The fact it is so close is a testament to how bad JBE is

Nope it will be because he lied about going negative against Ralph and pissing off the religious right Abraham voters.

This is golden coming from someone that calls him a neocon without even knowing what a neocon is.

What is Edwards plan outside of higher taxes and lawsuits? We have a stupid electorate and the results show. We are last in everything for a reason.

Rispone loses its because the powers that control state policies, the Dem machine, and the block vote were too much to overcome by a well funded rookie.

You cry about Rispone not having a definite plan and only a general philosophy, but Edwards doesn’t have any plans moving forward either.

It’s going to be close, but it shouldn’t be; however, too many in this state make bank with the status quo. Too few in this state control the black vote. Too many like the status quo and that’s a huge problem. La. is still a populist state at its core and Dems and exDems(RINOs) have control.

National issues and patriotism change that on a national level, but Governor is a local race.
Hopefully the Trump influence can educate some folks and folks will see just balancing a state budget is not a real big accomplishment if all you did was raise taxes.

Pasting my post from another thread since it seems relevant here.

quote:

-Was calling for constitutional reform zero substance?
-Was calling for tort reform zero substance?
-Was calling for more focus on early childhood education zero substance?
-Was calling for a freeze on the medicaid expansion along with increased auditing zero substance?
-Was fixing the ITEP program that JBE broke to make it more friendly to business again zero substance?

Not counting the stuff that is heavily implied by his past actions such as support for charter schools and education reform and probably lower taxes

There is a lot more substance to Rispone than JBE, unless you count "tax and spend" as substance.

Nope.

It will be because he went nuclear negative against Doc Abraham in the primary and violated President Reagan's 11th commandment.....

Finally convinced my Mom in north La. to vote for Rispone. Dr. Abraham was her physician and she is still pissed. She just wasn’t going to vote for either. She called to tell me she pulled the lever for Rispone after all. I think a lot of Doc’s voters will ultimately do the same.

Rispone critics want a detailed plan, and more than just a principled outline; meanwhile, Edwards slides along saying ditch, Jindal and phoney Rispone.

You see what’s going on.

Yes.

Those are broad, empty generalities.

I am against crime!

I am against evil!

Observe my substance!!!

There is some of this and in a close race it could spell the difference.

We shall see.

I agree with your OP. Rispone should have at least had something other than "I'm with Trump". To be fair, I haven't really heard a real plan from Edwards either.

With that said, I'm voting for Rispone. I'd rather try something new than have a lawyer-backed tax and spend liberal pushing people and business out of the state.
