Well that’s not gonna happen

Why didn't you reply to OP?
Why wait until the end of page 1 to reply?

Over time each country would develop two parties and drift back to the right left issues.
It wouldn’t just stay a liberal country and a conservative country, or an Eden and a shithole.

Some of that population movement has already started to reverse, too.
Some huh?
Such tripe.
It is so small in comparison.
Why are you putting forth a false equivalency?
Or, are you suggesting that the number of people bailing from Commiefornia is now less than those returning?

California leaves, WA and Oregon are almost assured to go with them,
First of all there's basically zero scenarios where you would successfully get an entire state to go its own way. For example the state of Washington is de facto two states. Eastern Washington would tell Seattle to go frick itself

By the numbers, it's just started.

What false equivalency? I said the population shift we saw is starting to reverse. Reversal of a trend is in no way a false equivalency

People are leaving states like TX in higher numbers than the recent past, and many are returning to California.
The net migration into TX is slowing. I believe Florida is experiencing the same. As I said, that trend is reversing

Even in that scenario, which ignores the spirit of OP, the US would lose its entire West Coast access.

Cut off all food and poison the water supply to the coast

Your west coast would lose the ability to defend itself. A simple blockade of those ports would bring the western country of jerkoffistan to the negotiating table.

From whom?

Again, this is specifically not what OP is addressing

I am telling you your wet dream of New Jerkoffistan buddying up with China and no west coast ports available is easily remedied.

Who gets to tell the people living in these red counties in California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Maine, Virginia, Maryland, etc. that they now get to be governed by the liberal overllords in their respective states and that they are no longer protected by the Constitution since you dissolved the USA?

But countries have gone their separate ways since the dawn of time.
It's worked out well for Ukraine and Crimea, hasn't it

So you are stating that:
quote:
the number of people bailing from Commiefornia is now less than those returning?
because that would be a reversal.
quote:

Then you said it incorrectly.
You are racing passed being disingenuous. Doubling down on such a hack take, even AFTER being called is out, is tantamount to lying.
Congrats I guess.

This is the thread title:

If people could be rational, Balkanization is the answer
Note: I did not make this thread

The resources of this nation could never be divvied up to both sides’ satisfaction.

because that would be a reversal.
TREND is being reversed.
That doesn't mean it automatically flips from negative to positive.
Posted on 6/9/25 at 1:54 pm to SlowFlowPro
You did make the ports and China post correct?

Within the context of this thread about Balkanization, which implied a non-civil war version.
People who are anti-California keep trying to turn into violence when it's pointed out how strong Cali could be or how weakened the US would be, when that's the underlying theme of the OP. This fantasy scenario where only the red areas prosper and the blue areas die would not happen.

TREND is being reversed.
But…it isn’t.
It may be slowing down, but it isn’t reversed unless you are stating that:

the number of people bailing from Commiefornia is now less than those returning?
