Who could conceivably come out of the Democratic Party to lead the House?
Is it possible they could screw up that vote and McCarthy becomes speaker?

They should hold the vote in Broward County, then the Dems would likely fail to name a speaker prior to 2020.

It would require democrats to vote for McCarthy for that to happen.

they are fighting over it. they fought this before. the BCC wants one of their own, Pelosi gets the Cally bucks for them so she will be Speaker and the BCC will get big committee titles and better offices.

Not sure about that. I think if Dems split their vote or if some of them voted present to "protest Pelosi, that Mccarthy could win.

Not for long. He gave up running for reelection for his House seat to run for senate. He won’t be in the House when they vote for the new Speaker

there is NOBODY close to the power of Pelosi in the dim House. The only way she isn't speaker is if she passes away first.
