If everyone laid off has to be rehired, was anything gained?

I thought we wanted a shut down ao that the federal govmt could be cut in ways it otherwise couldn't. Today, I see it reported that there was an agreement to rehire government workers that were fired.

Other than not giving in to stupid democrat demands, was anything cut or accomplished?

It's not everyone that was laid off. Only those laid off during the past few weeks of the shutdown.

Depends on the final agreement that is reached.

But it probably won't accomplish anything in so far as reducing the size of the Federal government, no.

4100 or so employees, they apparently threw out red meat, then bent the people cheering it on over and told us to squeal like a pig. And probably hope we didn’t notice that our anus has expanded.

Was any money permanently not spent? Or was it just delayed a few weeks.
