Which party would you trust to run the govt best?

I've said many times, if liberals gain control again, our country will be in trouble. They have no idea how to run shite. They can't even run an illegal spying operation worth a damn. THEY DID IT AND GOT NOTHING IN RETURN.

Republicans would handle it easily.

We'd be better off if states governed themselves and the only national interest was defense.

They can't work without each other even though they don't work well together

Is there another thread asking this question?

If so, I certainly apologize.

This question doesn't pertain to spygate. I threw that in there for fun.

It's not about them knowing how to run stuff, its 110% about the stuff they WANT to run.

I have no doubt they would run this country very well in the ways they want to run it. Problem is their ways would be horrible for the average American who works and lives honestly.

I was just having fun.

As for your question: Difficult - I do not trust EITHER. My guess is if they did not have an "opponent", then they would not have to 'pander' for votes. Therefore, they each COULD be great (by virtue of no pandering) or terrible (by virtue of no competition).

Luckily, this will never occur.

Winner winner chicken dinner - if we could somehow undo over a hundred years of spiraling away from the original intent of Constitution

I'm a conservative, so of course I would trust the Republican party to run the government better, but the results would not be good, because our system depends on checks and balances. Nothing makes republicans more conservative than democrat leadership, which means they suck almost as bad as democrats.

Look at the legs republicans are giving things like red flag laws at the state and federal level. All it took was for the NRA to provide a little political cover, and they are seriously discussing that abomination, instead of rejecting it out of hand, like any sane American who has read the Constitution should do.

Look at the way republicans have preserved Obamacare, thanks to a little political cover from John Roberts.

Look at the fact that the last time in anyone's memory that our federal government didn't find a way to spend BILLIONS more than the TRILLIONS confiscated from the American taxpayer every year, was in the mid 90's when Bill Clinton was president.

I vote republican, but if republicans could be trusted to follow the Constitution, and actually enact legislation that is in the best interests of American working class, there would be very few places in the country where democrats would hold enough power to even be a problem to the republican agenda.

Being that there is barely a dozen that I trust in the GOPe neither party.

Even if we started with a fresh slate tomorrow and flipped every table over in the swamp, everyone has a price to be bought; and lobbyists will corrupt all over again.

Libertarian. It's the closest society would ever come to a Meritocracy.

Kind of doubt that gutting the military, open borders, and allowing radical islam to fester around the globe is very many people's idea of a good time.

ETA: Of course, many would stay high as a Georgia pine, so maybe.
