The left has thrown well over 5 billion on useless projects. Why not employ some Americans on some infrastructure and re open the government

First, 5B doesnt get you a wall.
Second, trump himself has declared it 99% effective.
Finally, suppose trump is lying (hard to believe i know) and it isnt effective/doesnt work. Do we really need to shut down the government to get an unpopular, piece of public art?

They know it works and it scares the shite out of them. That’s a lot of votes not coming in.

Well it would tie up government resources on an ineffective plan to stem the flow of iloegals.

The left wants more illegals, so an ineffective plan to stop them would give them what they want.

They oppose the wall because it will work

Do we need to shut down the government to not employ some contractors to do manual labor?

You may need to do a little more research. The number has always been 5.7. It’s what trump asked for and what the house approved in 2018. Perhaps you shouldn’t question whether someone else is well-informed when you didn’t know this basic fact.

If you ascribe to the belief that 5B (or 5.7B, bonds) is only a start, how many more shutdowns do we need to endure to reach the full amount? Are we going to be at this point everytime he doesnt get his way?

The fact that the wall finding, in a multi trillion dollar budget, is the hill the Dems are willing to fight and die on is the part that amazes me the most.

If it doesn’t work, it is still a low enough dollar amount that it doesn’t hurt anyone else’s pet projects, yet it’s a large enough dollar amount that it can be used as a way to highlight its waste to the American people during the 2020 election .

The only way this is a losing proposition to the Dems is if it does work and they are pro illegal immigration.

All the rest is window dressing.

Career CBP officials say a wall is a critical piece of securing the border and it works.

Data shows it drops border crossing by 90% +.

Do you trust the professionals on the ground and the data, or politicians and pundits (who by the way supported it 4 years ago - so apparently they used to think it works).

Stupid thread. Gun laws don't work and we oppose those for good reason.

None, if the Democrats learn a lesson from all this.
