I Wonder How Hispanics View the Democrat & Media Obsession w/Blacks?

I just checked some data, and as of 2017 17.6% of the American population was described as "Hispanic/Latino," while 12.7% was listed as Black. So, I'm wondering a couple of things:
1) How do Hispanics view the virtual (albeit disingenuous) lovefest being shown by Dems and the media towards blacks? As "minorities," do they identify as having similar issues as blacks? Or not? Personally, I don't think they do. As a group, Hispanics don't have nearly as much trouble with law enforcement. Hispanic families tend to be intact, with a much lower rate of single-parent families. Given all of this and more, I simply don't see how Hispanics would identify with black people to any significant degree.
2) If you were advising President Trump and his campaign team, wouldn't you advise him to make a special effort to reach out to a minority group which A) is almost 50% larger than blacks, and B) seems to have been largely forgotten by Democrats who don't seem to realize that they are largely ignoring what has become the biggest minority group in America (and by a substantial margin)?
If I were advising President Trump, I would suggest that he make a strong push for the Hispanic vote in 2020 (if they're not already doing so).

AOC considers herself black because she is “a person of color”. So I guess they don’t care.

In general, Hispanics do not like blacks and save for drunk driving and statutory rape, they are generally law abiding.

Conservatives need to target Asians first then Hispanics, specifically those from island nations and those from South American dictatorships.

I have a feeling I know but no data to prove it.

I serve on the board of a charter school in Memphis that is mainly Hispanic followed by black students and then white. A parent on the board is from Mexico and working class. I have noticed he keeps posting stuff on Facebook in support of the police and critical of BLM

It is summer time. No latino/latina in my neck of the woods gives two fricks. There are pools to be swum in. Barbeques to be eaten.

I've had several conversations with Hispanic friends and coworkers the last few weeks and the consensus seems to be that they see this as an unchecked police brutality issue. They don't support the rioting or looting but are fully on board with the idea that the police need to be reigned in hard.

Too busy working and making the American Dream come true for their families.

I used to work with a dual Mexican-American citizen who made no effort to hide his disdain for black people.
Said they were lazy and always wanted something for free.

Every Peurto Rican baw I was in the Army with is MAGA as frick. My baw from LA whose parents are from El Salvador well let's just say he is on the ledge right now and about to jump from the Democrat Party. Also my freind from Dallas who is half Mexican is on the ledge too, he is big time 2nd amendment supporter and does not like the left shifting further on restricting and banning weapons. Serving for so many years tends to make most people more conservative imo and those are all the Hispanic baws I know.

I’ll just say this.....I have Mexican, Brazilian, Honduran employees, as well as black(African American)....They ALL; including the black guys and gals are laughing at the shite that’s going on. Some are even embarrassed. These people are hard working providers that are now Trump supporters....who love and support LEO. The media and Dems are blowing this shite out of proportion.....Creating false narratives by trying to lump all AA’s together as disgruntled. Look, I get it.....but I’ll never understand the pressures and feelings of being a person of color and yes, racism does exist. There is no room for it in our society. I feel that what’s happening now is creating the opposite effect of what was intended. It’s creating a larger divide and even turning non racist people into racist people. It’s just a shitty deal all around.....but, I still have faith in my fellow man to get this turned around. It has to be turned around!!!!

So as a Presidential advisor you would advise him to alienate one group over the other?
If I was his advisor I'd advise him to go for all groups.
Seems like you're playing identity politics with a right wing view.

Not surprised that you would put a negative twist on my comments. I'm saying that Democrats are mostly ignoring Hispanics, which is creating a huge opportunity for President Trump.

So, encouraging President Trump to strongly pursue the Hispanic community means I'm "right-wing?" That idea is beyond stupid. Thanks for playing.

I have made mention of the fact my wife is Mexican and she is also probably more conservative than me! What was interesting is a few months ago, one of her black co-workers said that blacks think of Hispanics as being 'white'. She found that odd, but to her, it just confirmed that blacks are only concerned about black issues and the rest of us and any issues we have are unimportant/secondary.
