Depending on who you read, those making over $10 mil could pay as much as 77% in income and payroll tax. So, for instance, someone making 30+ mil per season, could up taking home less than $10 mil. And that doesn’t include additional taxes, such as state income taxes, a wealth tax (which kicks in at $32 mil), net investment income tax, etc. I’ll be curious to see the response.

Socialism doesn't destroy billionaires, it destroys everyone else.
You go to any socialist shite hole country and you'll find an ultra wealthy 1% that control everything and the other 99% are desperately poor and own nothing and are essentially slaves to the 1%.
Socialism achieves its "equality" be wiping out all middle classes.

Increase tax on the rich athletes & celebs and they’ll just demand higher salaries, move money out of the US, and/or move their primary residence elsewhere. They and billionaires have no intention of changing their lifestyle and have the legal means to protect their wealth.

I thought all these celebs moved to Canada 3 years ago

It will be like when all the rock and roll stars fled Britain in the 60s and 70s. Socialism is great for thee...

This is what they really want. When your 23 year old dumbass nephew is wailing about wealth inequality, what he is really envisioning is taking down people who make $200k per year and live in nice houses. He actually knows those people and envies what they have. He's never met a billionaire.

Yeah, this is not how it works. Let's see some links for these numbers. Or are we all just going to blindly believe this guy?

The nebulous "they" get ruled over by the FedGov bureaucrats because those unelected folks know better than Joe in Des Moine how Joe should live, what Joe should do, what Joe should eat, drink, where Joe should sleep,...

I'll add it destroys some billionaires, and creates others. It all depends on who you know.

Only the ones who have already made their fortune. Ever notice that athletes/celebrities who have not yet made their fortune stay surprisingly silent politically. See Labron and Taylor Swift as examples.

Actually, when no one can afford to go to an NBA game or their overpriced concert, they’ll care quite a bit
Posted on 2/22/20 at 8:08 am to Huge Richard
Sure they will.
I mean what extremely wealthy person doesn't want 75% of their shite taken away by force?

Socialism is schadenfreude turned into an economic system.
Mike has $1000
Joe has $500
Allen has $50
Allen is angry at how "unfair" the system is. He demands equity.
Mike has $10
Joe has $10
Allen has $10
Good job Allen, you sure showed them.

Why did you run away the other day without giving your definition of socialism and communism?
Why are you scared to give your definition?

Forbes has it the top rate at 70% FYI. The payroll tax portion on some of these brackets from seem off.
So call it 70% it you wish.

This 100%. Jealousy of the success achieved by people they used to see as their equal. In my 30s and the biggest loudmouth leftists all had the same chances of success as me.

what members of congress are for that?
even bloomberg is for a euro style .0001 tax on wagers on commodities and equities markets.
probably would cut into the wild arse computer driven action.
