I considered myself somewhat "in-the-loop", but a Forbes YouTube video showed up on my feed and mentioned "Morgan" Lutrell. Said to myself, "that ain't right... is it?"

Watched it, then Googled it. Sure enough, Marcus is his brother. They act exactly the same.

Forbes YouTube Video

Mayorkas: Congresswoman... Congressman...

Luttrell: WHOA!!!! Back it up buddy. I identify as man! And I don't have any pronouns.

Mayorkas: I apologize.

I knew Morgan Luttrell was running for Congress, but I never knew if he won or not.

That’s awesome. Hopefully the seals can have a better representative than ole Crenshaw.

Also.

Marcus developed shin splints really bad in BUDS training and his twin brother Morgan actually swapped with him for a week or two to fill in for him.

The NAVY didn’t have a clue.

They found out at the very end of training and command actually was impressed, with his honesty and balls to pull it off, and let him graduate.

They now check to see if you have any twins before entering training.

True story! They did an interview about it.

Morgan said he had to run 6 miles on the beach and do other calisthenics that he wasn’t exactly prepared for.

He said some of the recruits knew he wasn’t Marcus and were cracking up the whole time, but none of the instructors caught on.

The seal brass found out about this later and Marcus had to have a meeting with the admiral, who actually thought it was hilarious.

The drill instructors knew Morgan was coming to BUDS and told him they’d be waiting for his arrival!

Nah. They were just practicing reconnaissance and espionage.

Funny story, My oldest son has been on the teams for over 18yrs now. He was once threatened by both Marcus and Morgan. My son, who was married at the time, was 25yrs old, and was messing around with their niece. She lived in Houston and was only 18 at the time. He had to get his commander to get them off his back...

As Gunny Highway once proclaimed. … You adapt and you overcome. Sounds like what the brothers did.

You do know the purpose of BUDS isn’t physical fitness don’t you?

To some degree, it is, because if you are physically unable to continue then you get washed out.

To some degree. Exactly. The point is to see who they are. To see how they can lead, adapt, overcome, persevere, and find a way to complete the mission. And do it with teamwork and no quit.

But I’m sure you guys know more than the US Special Operations Command. Obviously known for letting cheaters in the ranks of the seal teams.
