I am laughing because I don't know a single person who works at the age under 40 who is about to retire - Do you? That's my point. They are all full of shite reading off their scripts that Chuck and Nancy has provided them to say

I had someone come up to me and said that somebody at USAID (Iraq relief). Two months from retirement and got promoted last year only to get fired last week.

My point on this is not whether true or not, but people have been conditioned to think they can get these Jobs with no consequences plus retirement. They can’t grasp that what they were doing was a fraud. Anyway we got a lot of people that think Trump is really Hitler.

You know there are some very good people who were dedicated to their job that got dumped on the street? Including veterans.

Stop being an a-hole.

This happens every day in the private sector. Do you cry over them too?

I have zero sympathy. I've worked next to most of these slugs during my 23 years in the Army. I don't remember any of them crying when we went through the separation boards and drawdown and when people got bounced for not promoting fast enough.

It's also funny because my last two years in the Army all the GS were telling me to take a GS job because "you can get a second pension."

I bet you said nothing when private sector employees were fired or lost their businesses during COVID,

What does that have to do with the OP?

I wasn’t posting here during cvd but I certainly was critical of all the bullshite mandates. I was turned away from a doctors appointment because my infant wasn’t wearing a mask. Of course daycares were closed so I had no choice but to take her with me. I never thought wearing a cloth mask did anything but increase body temp. Turns out, I was right. Lockdown was hell. I was stuck at home with a toddler and infant and still had to teach virtually while my husband got to leave the house to work. I never championed any of the cvd policies anywhere on any platform or irl.

Are you ready to explain why you delight in strangers losing their jobs now?

I’m assuming you spend all day in joyful bliss knowing private sector employees were fired? Or do you only rejoice when public sector employees get fired?

Combing through social media looking for untrue posts to post here would take 100000 people working 100 hours a week. What’s the point?

Great comeback to someone asking you to explain yourself. Brilliant.

I don’t get emotionally caught up in either. Sounds like you do.

Show me where I posted anything in delight of people losing their jobs. You can’t because it isn’t there, you are just being emotional and lashing out.

My point is the hypocrisy of people crying about government workers who lost their jobs but say nothing when people in the private sector lost jobs during COVID or any other mass layoffs from businesses. Remember the whole “learn to code” meme was started because people in the private sector were losing their jobs not the other way around.

Then why are you posting in this thread? OP is nothing but emotion. He has no way of verifying or disproving the tweet he posted.

Factual incorrect as a bureaucrat is simply a representative or official of the government who hold the powers vested to them in government processes. Your lowly park ranger could arbitrarily make rules within the capacity and authority given to him with the weight of the us government and only corrected by either a court or higher level bureaucrat.. the vast majority are not nefarious but to root out the weeds you sometimes affect the plants but if you don’t you’ll eventually choke out the flowers

They are full of shite. I work in the government and the email said if you are retiring before December 31 but after October the 1st then they would extend your resignation to that date and you would stay on admin leave. Anyone retiring this year and did not take that resignation has the IQ of a fence post. If they didnt take it then everything that happens to them is their own fault. However also, if they were let go they still get their pension, so again they are full of shite. They would also get 52 weeks of severance, so they could extend their retirement out and take the full 52 weeks of severance then retire.

. Who are the flowers on this scenario? Seems like politicians and their appointees are the only ones protected and they are the weeds, imo.

Why are you seeking this stuff out? Help me understand the obsession with laughing at strangers who lost their jobs through no fault of their own. How does that MAGA? Obviously I’m going to get downvoted but I’m hoping someone will attempt to explain this behavior.

This. My nephew graduated with an engineering degree from UT and has been working for NASA for several years now. He works his arse off and has been promoted but is facing losing his job at this point, He is lucky because he could likely find a new job easily as he had many offers (for more money) in the private sector but absolutely loves his work at NASA. Stop the over blown generalities about federal workers. 100% of them aren’t ‘lazy’ just like 100% private sector employees aren’t working 80 hours per week.

I would think those who were close to retirement would have been the ones who received the buy-out package....so by them acting all surprised and shite should not have been caught off guard.

I got laid off with a 2-month old baby at home. I have a friend that was laid off a week before his baby was due and he was looking for a job from the delivery room. This is life in the private sector. My sympathies for these losers is absolutely none.
