It was tee’ed up by the pandemic. The impetus that set it off was the last stimulus bill (AKA inflation reduction act ) which was the gasoline thrown on the supply side embers of the pandemic.

Never forget that the Democrats were going for a $3 trillion stimmy bill, which was really more like $5 trillion. The Republicans stopped them with help from Sinema and Manchin.
