I imagine those baws purchased up some properties in Long Island to make some money before Amazon made their decision to move there.

Now they’re left holding pieces of shite properties bc the socialist darling ran off 25k jobs. The mob may have to Tonya Harding her.

Maybe, but I think it's more a matter of the Democrat Establishment not liking her because they apparently can't control her. Pelosi obviously doesn't like her, either.

Plus, Amazon is owned by one of 5he Democrat's fair-haired boys. And remember, initially DeBlasio seemed to side with AOC. The fact that he did a 180 just 24 hours later tells you that one or more very powerful people told him to change his opinion.

Also DeBlasio is practically a communist and if there is one thing the mob can't stand it's communism.

I think the news said that businessman spen 1 million dollars getting ready for amazon to come to NY . AOC will have a fight on her hands in the 2020 election. The establishment will be out to get her especially if they have a moderate win the presidential nomination.

Long Island City is in Queens, not Long Island... right across from Manhattan. The area is way past gentrification and already had many high rise $$$$ condos overlooking the East River. If they bought properties there, they werent shite.

For reference, heres the view...

The last one is from an actual apt in Long Island City.

If you lived in NYC you would want to live in Long Island City, if nothing else because theres 7 subway lines underneath the neighborhood.

Trump's winning again in 2020, but it doesn't matter, anyway. The fight against AOC will be waged by her fellow Democrats, and she will absolutely get primaried. If AOC wins the Democrat primary in 2020, she's guaranteed to beat any Republican in the general election.

AOC isn’t necessarily wrong about Amazon.

Subway system is already stressed and you are talking about an additional 25,000 new bodies accessing public transit? Not to mention the rocketing prices in rent and housing.

New York is set to lose a couple of House seats due to population decline. New York dems could eliminate her district by combining it with another.

It's going to be interesting to see how and if they can reel her into the fold.

Probably because those voters are mighty immature

I think when you look at the total package it was probably better for state coffers but locally (Queens) there was a lot of hiccups.

3 billion tax credit
Subsidizing Amazon Salaries
Stress on public transit (subways already stressed)
Rising rent and housing prices

For Queens the deal might not of been a fit for them. Maybe a city like Orlando jumps all over this type of deal?

Oh you can bet the money was just waiting to be spread upon the deal being made.

While her career goes on her road got even tougher going forward just on this alone.

Geographically speaking isn't anything east of the East River, including Queens and Brooklyn, Long Island? If not then what is the body of water that separates the west side of Long Island from the rest of New York?

Those districts are going to California and other growing metro areas. The seats are remaining blue.
