Well, it's possible. I was talking to a lady friend of mine, who on the one hand doesn't think this is right that a man should be able to compete in women's sports, but on the other hand, she kept referring to the swimmer as 'she'.
I let that slide, and casually mentioned that the swimmer in question still has original male parts, and doesn't mind fully undressing in front of the other female swimmers in the locker room.
I find it amusing.
