Not so sure about that. My in-laws live in Kenner and I’ve never seen the roads so clear. It used to be hell getting about Kenner and Metairie regardless of the day/time but I breezed down Vets from Clearview to Causeway a few Saturdays back in the afternoon like it was a mid-week morning. My wife even commented on how little traffic we encountered compared to normal.
And in my neighborhood in Mandeville the company that handles our subdivision landscaping was nothing but Hispanic workers for years. Now it’s a mix of white, black and Hispanic workers. More of the former than the latter. I couldn’t believe it when I saw a white guy out on a zero turn. lol
Basically what I’m getting at is I think quite a few have self deported rather than risk apprehension. Probably at least 1:1 ratio if not higher. The amount leaving is likely much higher than the official estimates. Just my small observation.

What the Trump Admin has done at the southern border is unprecedented in history, and he doesn't get enough credit for it.

And you are correct. What the Romans and Chinese did to protect their lands is beyond impressive. As an aside, Vlad III Tepes didn't use walls per se, but also had himself an excellent defense strategy that was historically as impressive as anything we've heard about. He turned back the entire Ottoman Empire from his doorstep when half of his country was destitute, famished, dead or dying... all with a very bold night raid and some psychological warfare.

Well I can assure you that, if keeping out radicalized Islamic civilization is a concern to you, then we are aligned in agreement on that subject.
