This. Libertarianism was a by-product of a functional, high-trust, common law, property rights and rule based society that developed over centuries. You can’t just go institute “libertarianism” any more than you can just randomly install an unwired outlet and use it for electricity.

The libertarian party has mostly grown into an outlier freak party. Quit having horrible frontman as the faces and it may attract a new generation of voters.

The problem with society today and I lump libertarians in with this is this. Everyone having the freedom and liberty to do what they want is good, just as long as everyone accepts and assumes accountability and responsibility for those actions.
This is where I think the issue is that no one wants to assume responsibility for their actions.

Let's be honest, nothing scales to include 360 million people which is exactly why the founding of this country was based in Libertarianism. By design, they wanted each state to establish there own political nuances as long as they did not infringe on what were considered "basic human rights". Of course, most states had less population than most current average size cities at that time. Self governance really should be brought down to the local level. Once an economic/political ideology reaches a certain population level, it will always go off the rails because someone or something has accumulated too much power.

Hard to have a conversation about libertarianism when many here cannot or will not understand
The Libertarian party does not represent nor is it comprised of most libertarians. Note big "L" is party. Little "l" is the political belief.
