Lumber yard also said they are running out of material and said lumber packages for homes and buildings are going to start being put on hold with lead times way out.

All my home projects just got put on hold. Ain't no way in hell I'm paying that much for some wood. I'm glad I went ahead and built my pool deck last year.

Crazy seeing the impact of everything from India call centers to South American flowers.

World wide supply chain is great..until it isn't.

We are a consumer economy and hugely dependent on others for most things.

Damn I got a stack of plywood and bead board in my shop attic. Might have to see if I can get some big money for it.

I know what you mean. I am in the process of redoing my man/dog/cat cave and I ain't paying that inflated price for stuff. Here is what I did: I needed storage space like a cubbyhole closet, large desk/counter areas. I paid $6 bucks for the shittiest 2x4x8's that I have ever seen. I ripped them into 2x2x8's and framed a closet. I found damaged (and I mean DAMAGED!) cabinets at Marvins. They had a fork lift tine go through one, and had dropped the other two. I took plastic wood and layer the holes and dents, then stained them with dark oak stain and even I find it hard to believe how good they look. I took the old laminated flooring and made the top for it,covered the closet with the flooring too. Stained it, and it is amazing how it looks. All done on the cheap. I did have some left left over from a previous job, so I have less than shite $wise invested in this project

It’s bad, and getting worse. Every new construction I have under contract is delayed

I have a pretty good stack of 2x6's caused by the contractor over-ordering on the barn we had built two yrs ago. I should sell them now and just buy some more later when the prices come down. I will eventually need them but not right now.
