Someone I know posted a meme and it said:

In Louisiana,

- abortion is illegal with no exception to rape or incest
- NOPD has officially announced that that rapes will not be investigated (mentions backlog of 73,000 rape kits)
- homicide is the #1 cause of death amongst pregnant women

It was a repost but the original came from the Twitter of Gabrielle Perry, MPH (I’m not linking her Twitter)

Are these bullet points true? Mostly concerned about the first two

Abortion in Louisiana is illegal in most cases. NOPD does not respond to rape calls as emergencies. This is probably because most rapes are reported after they have already happened. A call of rape in progress might be upgraded to emergency status. Most states have a backlog of untested rape kits.

If we only had roads that connected the entire country and ways of transportation to get to places we need to go

The rape exceptions are dependent on charges being filed promptly and investigations. Women who simply want abortions will lie by saying they were raped. Lying is what women do best.

I realize that New Orleans is ran by marxist democrats, and has been for generations, but does it even sound plausible that a police department would officially announce that they would not investigate a particular violent crime? I mean even if it was department policy, do you think they would announce to the world that rape would not be investigated in the Chocolate City?

You always here this and it doesn't make sense at all. Farm that shite out to a private lab. Send it to another state. Something.

Maybe open up bids for a state contract to process crime evidence.

The mayor of New Orleans should have been aborted.

They did come out and say this publicly after rvw were overturned. Nobody ever accused NOLA police of being competent

I was being sarcastic. I'm saying it really isn't an issue to people that want abortions because it's not like the 30's where we had to take backroads to states (states that allow abortions). Sorry that wasn't clear
