I want everyone to have open affordable access to healthcare on all levels.

Me too, but the changes they have attempted have made my insurance more expensive and cover less. I just don't believe in government run healthcare and that is the only way you can cover everyone without making the working class pay out the arse for it.

I want a long term comprehensive energy strategy aligned with global powers and partnership to accelerate the growth of alternative energy for not just pollution concerns, but for global economic reasons, long term. No longer should oil barons be driving global energy policy, like puppet masters with the world on a string.

I'm all for it, but let's let it naturally develop. My senior design project was for engineering in college was using alternative energy to power a water well. It's laughable how inefficient it is compared. Now that was a decade ago, but we still aren't close. Cheap, independent energy means O&G. And oil barons will just become wind barons or solar barons, just like their were railroad, steel, etc..

I want a US tax plan that doesn't let companies like Amazon write off a bunch of jibber jabber and pay zero taxes, while all of their employees are paying between 15%-50% of their income in taxes. I want a US tax plan that doesn't allow multi-millionaires to pay zero income tax due to the code that allows them to simply depreciate their assets on paper to avoid tax liability, while people who actually work for the money (90%+ of people) have no such tax shelters available to them.

Amazon gets these perks so that those jobs exist allowing those people to have the incomes in the first place.

quote:

I want a national drug enforcement policy that helps people instead of locking them up. Decades of policy research shows this is more effective and cheaper to do, and obviously helps people more than it hurts them.

Not sure how Biden is your man over Trump here.

quote:

I want an immigration policy that allows children illegally brought to this country through no fault of their own to have a straight-forward non-political path to permanent citizenship. This is the only country they've ever known. Their friends, families, and careers are here. They are part of the fabric of our American family. Using them as a bargaining chip for politics is disgusting. Just naturalize them, and move on.

At a human level I agree, but this is a horrible precedent to set. It's not black and white, good and bad. Not only does it blatantly incentivize illegal immigration, it hurts Mexico as people flee and compounds the problem.

quote:

I want a minimum wage that a small humble family can actually live on, even if meagerly. It will incentivize people to get off public assistance and actually work for a living. Who would go to work for $8 an hr when the welfare benefits exceed that, to do nothing? Make the minimum wage actually work for people, and help eliminate welfare with a hand-up rather than a hand-out.

You cannot artificially add value to a job in a capitalist society. It just doesn't work. It's basic economics. You'll have inflation, automation, or businesses will just close.

quote:

I want a safety net social security system that isn't just a safety net, but a trampoline, that allows people to bounce back in many cases. Social Security must be bolstered up and made whole again. The SS budget must be balanced, and this will require a combination of means testing, some tax hikes, and some tax cuts. You say wealth redistribution, I say tomato. It's an investment required for a stable and prosperous society.

I would say one way to have people bounce back with a trampoline is the lowest unemployment rate....Trump seems to be the choice here.

quote:

I want bolstered workers rights that protect workers who are fired without cause (layoff, reduction in force) to be guaranteed a fair severance. If all companies were forced to do this, it wouldn't create any competitive disadvantages because they are all playing by the same rules.

This is just a difference of opinion. Business are not in business to make your life better. You are only hired to provide a service to that business. I think they should have the right to determine if they still want that service under any and all conditions.

quote:

I want pension options in addition to stock-based 401k offerings that typically are only affordable for upper-middle income earners.

Again, you can't just make up value for a person.

quote:

I want free community college and trade programs for all, regardless of age or background. sure it would cost billions, but it would be offset by the billions in gray money spent to deal with problems caused by an uneducated and untrained national domestic workforce.

Well....I don't want to pay for it. And if we'd force the rest of the world to play by the same rules we are forcing ourselves to, then we'd have a competitive manufacturing/blue collar job market to fill. Not everyone needs a random education. I want easier access to those that will make use of it, but blanket free education is a stupid waste.

Why do you believe in daddy government when daddy government has proven to be an inept bumbling failure that makes your alcoholic failure of an uncle look like Einstein?

Seriously.

Why do you want MORE government? Why?

Are you seriously afraid to think for yourself? Is holding yourself responsible really THAT scary?

Knowledge is the great equalizer. The poorest American has more potential than the mightiest of kings 500 years ago. We have the entirety of the human knowledge at our fingertips and the ability to learn anything, anywhere, nearly instantaneously.

Bigotry of low expectations is the highest tier of bigotry IMO.

Yyou can't "vote" for Biden, that's clear. He's a shell for whatever power brokers on the left are controlling the party right now.

You've decided to vote for the progressive liberal agenda.

That means you are probably lost.

Everything you want would get much worse under a Biden administration especially healthcare.

Honest to God - people actually believe colleges will simply forgive the cost of tuition and College Presidents will just fling open their doors and yell, "Come on in!!"

What you will get...

quote:

I want everyone to have open affordable access to healthcare on all levels.

What you will get is a single payer system that provides shittier Healthcare run by beaurocrats that creates more national debt.

quote:

I want a long term comprehensive energy strategy aligned with global powers and partnership to accelerate the growth of alternative energy for not just pollution concerns, but for global economic reasons, long term. No longer should oil barons be driving global energy policy, like puppet masters with the world on a string.

What you will get is higher energy costs, and blackouts while green energy barons get rich off government subsidies along with large layoffs in fossil fuel industries.

quote:

What you will get are higher taxes on the middle class.

quote:

I want a national drug enforcement policy that helps people instead of locking them up. Decades of policy research shows this is more effective and cheaper to do, and obviously helps people more than it hurts them.

Fewer people that actually need to be in prison (career criminals) with no change in drug abuse.

This is the only country they've ever known. Their friends, families, and careers are here. They are part of the fabric of our American family. You will get children used as anchors for illegal immigrants bypassing our laws.

quote:

Who would go to work for $8 an hr when the welfare benefits exceed that, to do nothing? Make the minimum wage actually work for people, and help eliminate welfare with a hand-up rather than a hand-out.

What you will get is the destruction of small businesses, the pushing of all manufacturing jobs to other countries, and guaranteed inflation. Families will still not be able to support themselves as prices go up on all things.

quote:

It's an investment required for a stable and prosperous society.

What you will get is more national debt due to social programs that will put social security at even more risk.

I want pension options in addition to stock-based 401k offerings that typically are only affordable for upper-middle income earners.

What you will get will be much fewer jobs as companies continue to go outside of the US. And lower quality work as it gets harder to fire bad workers.

quote:

I want free community college and trade programs for all, regardless of age or background. sure it would cost billions, but it would be offset by the billions in gray money spent to deal with problems caused by an uneducated and untrained national domestic workforce.

You will get the same problems and find out that all that money was a waste and just added to the deficit.

quote:

Why would I vote for a republican?

Because you are smart enough to realize that the democrats are trying to run this country into the ground and want to save the greatest country in the world before the dems ruin it.

If more undecideds and lefties would look at the truth and answers to the questions you pose then more would likely lean right. Instead they feed on OMB and the other talking points that don't make sense in the grand scheme of things.

If Trump wins next week and continues to do what he has been doing then he will one day be remembered as one of the greatest POTUS' of all time. So many blinded by hate and cannot see the good he has done and wants to continue to do.

This is the best analysis I have ever seen for voting Biden that wasn’t OMB. At least you have some real thoughts behind your choice.
