The standard to infringe is clear. Do you know what it is? Or are you one of the super smart people that says we have to do something!!!

Imagine yourself 10,000 years ago and there is no United States of America, only wilderness, humans, predators and prey. Now imagine another human or group of humans attacking you and taking what you’ve rightfully built/grown/acquired for yourself. You survive, recover and learn. You then fashion a weapon for defense of you and yours. No one granted you this right to this weapon as it’s your natural (or God given) right to defend and protect.

It’s the same belief that underlies the 2nd ammendment and people’s steadfast belief that it’s not the government that gets to grant you the privilege of using a firearm, and monitoring your ownership of a firearm. It’s your natural right as a human to be able to defend yourself against tyrannical neighbors, groups, governments, etc.

*ETA: Without previous due process of conviction of qualifying criminal activity...not just someone might think you could maybe be suspect.

Are you one of those people who would rather ignore the problem until you happen to be eating at the wrong food court one day?

The government could use this for fatties

You emote a lot, but have yet to offer anything of substance. I’ll ask for a third time, are you aware of the standard? Clearly you aren’t. I’ve already established you are dumb.

A win for a simpleton, I guess. I will never understand why editing to correct grammar or spelling is seen as a gotcha. It’s silly.

It always amuses me when posters like you have such hubris, but in the end have to admit ignorance.

Narrowly tailored/strict scrutiny. Now. Apply that standard to the OP and see if you can figure out why it doesn’t meet the standard.

Not your first in the thread. Typo I mean, I don’t think you were smart enough to catch the error. Even though I highlighted it for you.

Yep, I’m admitting ignorance alright.

Holy shite. I thought you were going to say something intelligent. Please show me where I said anything close to resembling that I agree with the OP. Your reading comprehension is terrible. I outlined a basic baby step that I thought would be a fair compromise. Nobody is going to come GET UR GUNNS, and people that are showing warning signs at least get looked at.

Now sweetheart, please stop trying to have a “gotcha” moment yourself and stop spouting ignorance at me.

Quite possibly but this would allow for the individual to at least defend themselves in a civil hearing. Unless they lower the bar significantly, only a legit mentally ill person would have gun taken away.

Just a thought to keep some level of due process in play.

You don’t have to admit it. We are all very well aware of your ignorance.

Oh that’s right. You just said “at least he has an idea” and “we have to do something”. Trite emotional responses of an intellectual inferior. Typical low education and low information useful idiot.

How does that “baby step” stand up to the standard?

Yes! An idea! Something you evidently have very few. Also, if you are going to continue to question and insult my intelligence, can you at least use proper spelling and grammar? You won’t come off as so fake.

Considering it’s already law in more than a dozen states, pretty well. Hopefully it gets expounded on further over the next few years.

I understand that your ignorance of the Constitution and the standard required to infringe upon it is not something you have the capacity to understand. However, for the rest of us, an idea that is clearly unconstitutional isn’t worth much. But hey, you probably got a lot of participation trophies, so I understand your position. Sad as it is.

Which states? Which states have the law that reports to law enforcement must be taken seriously. How are they written? I’d like to look up if there have been any lawsuits and where they are procedurally. I assume you aren’t ignorant to the facts that support your claim, right? Surely you aren’t that dumb.

.so 0 reports a neighbor. Neighbor goes to a holding cell and is evaluated. Determined "safe", gets out and goes on with life. 0 goes to jail. While 0 is in jail, neighbor goes on shooting spree.

Does 0 get out? Does evaluator go to jail?

These steps of punishing folks for thoughts was a movie. Minority report, right?

Oh I understand it. I just don’t agree with. There is a difference. Also you again mention my ability to understand. It should be said you spent a hour of your life arguing with someone on the internet over a point that person wasn’t even trying to make.
