I gotta say it, I have a little respect for Beto accepting to debate Cruz.

Debates should be mandatory nationwide for public office.
Make people go on the record to defend their stances in a debate vs an opponent.
It also cuts out the grandiose promises/rhetoric.
Every dem/socialist in America is refusing debates before the MidTerms.
It's bullshite. It's because their plans and ideology can't hold up to the slightest bit of scrutiny.

Beto has a lot more to gain from debating Cruz than Cruz does. But that's assuming that they are both good debaters. We know Cruz is. Not sure about Beto.

Point of information. These are NOT debates. Debates do not have a moderator/s. These are press conferences. Lincoln and Douglas did not have a moderator. All you need is a time keeper.
And if you don't think the moderator can tilt the debate just look at the 2016 Presidential debates.
In a real debate Donna Brazile could not have leaked the questions to Hillary. Because there is no list of questions from a moderator. The debaters spring their own questions on their opponent.
